VeritageMiami is happening this week, and more than 3,000 food lovers and culinary stars are set to take part in the festivities. The festival brings together the community for some delicious fun to support a great cause.

Formerly known as the United Way Miami Wine and Food Festival, the fundraiser brought in $500,000 last year to benefit local initiatives focusing on community health, financial stability and education.

VeritageMiami spans four days and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, so you can expect some big things. Here’s a quick rundown of the week’s main events:

Wednesday, April 15 – Craft Beer Tasting

VeritageMiami is taking over Wynwood Walls for its thirst-quenching kickoff event. Local and national breweries are teaming up with over two dozen local restaurants for a tasty evening in the art-centric neighborhood. From 7-9 p.m. (6-9 p.m. for VIPs), attendees can sample more than 120 craft beers on and a variety of small plates.

Some of the breweries participating include:

  • Angry Orchard
  • Brooklyn Brewery
  • Goose Island Brewery
  • Harpoon Brewery
  • I.A. Brewing Co.
  • Oskar Blues Brewery

Guests can expect bites from the likes of The Local Craft Food & Drink, Oak Tavern, Quality Meats and Sugar Yummy Mama – to name a few.

Thursday, April 16 – Fine Wine Tasting

On Thursday, wine lovers get their chance to eat, drink and be merry at the Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables. Throughout the evening, you can enjoy a wealth of wines from wineries around the world;  400+ wines will be available for tasting.

All that drinking is bound to make you hungry, so over 25 restaurants will be there to satisfy your appetite. Here’s a taste of the restaurants that will be in attendance:

  • Brasserie Central
  • J&G Grill
  • Piripi
  • SOHO Bay
  • Toro Toro
  • Uvaggio

Friday, April 17 – Interactive Dinner

The five incredibly talented chefs who will be headlining the Interactive Dinner on Friday.

We have good news and bad news. Bad news: The interactive dinner is sold out. Good news: If you were able to snag tickets, you’re in for a treat.

This year, the chef roster shines the spotlight on five local female powerhouses: Eileen Andrade (Finka Table + Tap), Cindy Hutson (Ortanique on the Mile), Adrianne Calvo (Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar), Dena Marino (MC Kitchen) and Paula DaSilva (3030 Ocean).

The chefs will lead their guests through an interactive 5-course dining experience; attendees will have the chance to hone their cooking skills under the guidance of these culinary giants. Johnson & Wales students will provide support as sous chefs and sommeliers. The Interactive dinner takes place 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Downtown’s Intercontinental Hotel.

Saturday, April 18 – Auction and Wine Dinner

VeritageMiami 2015 comes to an end Saturday at Marlins Park. Starting at 6:30 p.m., ticketholders can indulge in delectable food and wine while partaking in a live auction. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the United Way of Miami-Dade. There will also be live entertainment at the event.

To purchase your tickets for VeritageMiami, visit the official website. Tickets are still available for all events except the Interactive Dinner.
