Come February 6, Tour of Kitchens will delight foodies, home-design enthusiasts and architecture admirers for the seventh straight year in Coral Gables. The 7th annual affair, put together by the Coral Gables Community Foundation, will give guests the chance to explore 10 of the City Beautiful’s finest private home kitchens for delicious bites and dining room inspiration.
The self-guided adventure starts at 9 a.m., when participants will enjoy a lavish breakfast spread at the Snaidero Kitchens + Design showroom located at 4110 Ponce de Leon. Once checked in and stuffed, attendees will get a program booklet with the tour map; each of the stops is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and can be visited in any order.
Among the stops on the tour are the Merrick Manor Sales Center and the Scavolini Store Miami. The former will provide a sneak peek into a new project with Astor Companies while the latter will transport guests to Italy with a gorgeous showroom and authentic Italian food. Speaking of food, every stop will feature bites from a local city restaurant. Some of the restaurants participating this year include Tarpon Bend, Bricktop’s, MesaMar, Whisk Gourmet, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza and La Taberna Giralda.
Tour of Kitchens closes with an event at Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.. While there, attendees will receive complimentary Martini Prosecco from Barcadi as well as a wealth of desserts from The Salty Donut, Vixi Gelateria, the local Girl Scout Troop and many other local businesses. There will also be talks by renowned kitchen designer Julia Johnston as well as a silent auction that includes home and kitchen items up for grabs.
Tickets for the Tour of Kitchens fundraiser are $60 and can be purchased online at gablesfoundation.org or by phone at 305-446-9670. Proceeds from the fundraiser go toward the Coral Gables Community Foundation and its Culinary Arts Fund, which provides support and scholarships for the Culinary Arts Program at Coral Gables Senior High School.
