Live ‘La Dolce Vita’ With Mangia Mondays at Dolce Italian

Dolce Italian - Mangia Mondays - Rigatoni Carbonara

Your Monday nights are getting a lot more interesting. Dolce Italian, the Gale South Beach’s popular Italian eatery, recently launched Mangia Mondays to satisfy your pasta fix. The weekly special lets diners enjoy one of the restaurant’s signature pastas for just $10.

That’s a steal for pasta, especially from a Bravo TV “Best New Restaurant” winner. But while you should come in for the specially priced pasta, you should stay and try out the rest of the menu, too.

When we last wrote about Dolce Italian, we were blown away by their anniversary menu (we’ll never forget that tagliatella). So needless to say, our expectations were high for this meal. From the first bite of our caprese salad, we knew we had nothing to worry about. The housemade mozzarella and balsamic vinegar danced across our taste buds and served as a nice, light bite before the upcoming carbfest.

But first, meatballs. The Dolce Meatballs sat atop a layer of polenta and complemented each other well; get it all in one bite for a hearty, memorable combo. Just save room for the tartufata star pizza, which earned its shape. A highlight of the evening, the pizza’s mix of bianca, speck, spicy salami and truffle oil is so good that you’ll be fighting over each remaining slice; we speak from experience.

And then there was the pasta. The evening’s special — a rigatoni carbonara — was everything we like in pasta: perfectly al dente, generously portioned and lip-smackingly good. Plus, bacon. Even if you didn’t come specifically for the $10 special, the price and the dish is too good to pass up; just order it and box it up if anything. Trust.

At this point, we were pretty full but still devoured three desserts for the sake of research. Should you somehow still have room after your main course, go with the domed semifreddo. Encased in a cage of chocolate, the treat is both Instagram-worthy and appetite-worthy. It’s so pretty that you won’t want to touch it, but you totally should. Diet starts next week.

The next time you think Mondays suck, head to Dolce Italian. They’ll change your mind very quickly.
