It had been a while since we last visited the original Pubbelly on Miami Beach. We’ve spent most of our time at Pubbelly Sushi and Pubbelly Station as of late (mainly because they’re way closer to us). This past week, our good friends at Goodtella hosted an event at the O.G. location, and things have changed a lot in the year since we last dropped in.
First of all, it’s no longer just Pubbelly — say hello to Pubbelly Noodle Bar. Don’t worry: The place looks the same and your favorite items (including the veal brains) are still on the menu. But alongside those staples, you’ll find lots of noodz. Noodles have always been part of the PB menu, but now they’re at the forefront. Check out Goodtella’s interview with Executive Chef Jose Mendin for more on the rebranding.
If you missed the Goodtella event — “Let’s Noodle on It” — you missed one heck of the menu. Guests could choose from eight different noodle dishes:
PB Original Ramen
Lemongrass broth, BBQ pork belly, poached egg
Local Shrimp Yakisoba
Suquet, garlic confit, broccoli rabe, black garlic
Udon Bolognese
Veal, kimchee, chiles, ojinguchae
Short Rib Pho
Aromatic beef broth, bean sprouts, lime, jalapeno
Wild Mushroom Ramen
Dry shitake, ramps, Sichuan oil
Cold Daikon Noodles
Tuna tataki, red beet amazu, black truffle, zucchini
Jenny Mama Carbonara
Udon, smoked bacon, Parmesan broth, peas
Caldo de Pollo Con Mofongo
Chicken broth, culantro
There were also Soto Sake adult beverages like the Bubbletella, a fun and boozy twist on your typical boba tea. Another highlight: the Not Your Ramen, a sake and lychee concoction served in a ramen bowl. Below, you’ll find more photos from that epic evening. Make sure to follow Goodtella on social media for updates on their next event. Trust us: They sure know how to throw a party.
Pubbelly Noodle Bar is located at 1418 20th St on Miami Beach. For hours of operation and other information, visit their official website or call 305-532-7555.
