When seasons change, the menu at db Bistro Moderne changes with them. This spring, diners have the opportunity to dig into a variety of new selections from Executive Chef Clark Bowen and Pastry Chef Saeko Nemoto.
Let’s take a closer look at some of these items.
Start with the Baba Ganoush and Cauliflower. You might be thinking, “What’s so special about them?” Everything. The baba ganoush with lavash (#yasqueen), za’atar and olives will have you dipping like there’s no tomorrow, while the cauliflower is so colorful, fresh and tasty that you’ll want it all to yourself; it looks simple but there’s a lot to it.
Another plate you’ll find tough to share is the Corn Ravioli. Available in both a half portion or full portion, we recommend you go for the full portion; it’s a dish you wish would never end. Wild mushrooms also make an appearance in this dish, but this time they’re accompanied by corn nage and asparagus — it’s the perfect trio. We can’t stop raving about the dish enough.
As much as we loved the ravioli, though, the Lamb Duo was our favorite selection of the night. The succulent lamb gave our taste buds goosebumps; each bite had us grinning from ear to ear. Nothing was left on the plate. Pretty sure we licked it, too. The Strawberry Religeuse ensured our evening ended on a high note. The strawberry cream puff creation is easy on the eyes and the palate. It’s a tower of flavor, and one that’s sure to light up your Instagram account.
In addition to all the new food — and there’s a lot of it — the cocktail list has a number of new entries, including Walking in Wynwood (AFROHEAD Briland 07 Rum, Hennessey Black, Almond Orgeat, Passionfruit, Raspberry, Coffee Bitters). The seasonal libations appear alongside db favorites like the White Cosmopolitan (Purity Vodka, White Cranberry, Fresh Lime) and Paloma (Tequila, Pressed Grapefruit, Fresh Lime).
These are just a few of the highlights on the spring menu; there’s a lot more to try. You better hurry, though — summer will be here before you know it.
