Tapas Night at Semilla

Nibble on a slice of imported Manchego on tomato toast, and let the gentle sounds of acoustic guitar surround you, as you are transported right into the heart of Barcelona. But, you are not in Barcelona – you are at your favorite local Miami Beach tapas spot, Semilla Eatery and Bar. All summer long, Chef Frederic Joulin is proud to partner with Chef Philip Ruiz, formerly of Biltmore’s Palme d’Or, for a very special Saturday night.

Together, French chefs Joulin and Ruiz conceptualized an entirely new tapas menu that would rival any Spanish counterpart. Both classically trained French chefs, Ruiz and Joulin take a highly technical approach to otherwise very traditional Spanish flavor combinations. These delectable culinary influences are reflected in the Ratatouille with Poached Egg and Serrano Ham, also the White Bean Ragout with Sautéed Chorizo.

A few other can’t-miss dishes are the Cod Fish Croquettas with Cilantro Aioli, and the Andalusian Gazpacho with Goat Cheese Toast. Of course it wouldn’t be a night at Semilla without music, so you will be swaying to the rhythm of Gypsy playing live as you snack on Charcuterie and sip Sangria.

National Candy Month at Sugar Factory

Start booking your dentist appointments! For those looking to take a quick break from their beach-bod pursuit, get your sugar fix throughout June in honor of National Candy Month. And if you didn’t know already, there’s only one shop in Miami who knows how to celebrate the occasion.

Sugar Factory, Miami’s favorite eatery and sweet shop, is offering an exclusive candy deal – sort through the colorful candy bins lining the walls and ring up your goods at an extremely discounted price:

– $5/lb for select bulk candy
– $15 for a filled souvenir container of select bulk candy

Giving locals a sweet escape, Sugar Factory is located on both Lincoln Road (647 Lincoln Rd.) and Ocean Drive (Hotel Victor, 1144 Ocean Dr.).
