American Social Las Olas

Celebrate National Rum Day at American Social Las Olas with the refreshing Honeybell Mojito with Bacardi Superior, Aperol, Mint, Limes, Oranges and fresh citrus. Cocktails are $10 during happy hour. Pair with savory bites from the new $6 Happy Hour bites menu, including Ropa Vieja Tacos, Pretzel Bites, East Coast Oysters and 6 oz AMSO Burger among others.


On National Rum Day, Ariete is offering a complimentary Old Cuban cocktail (Flor de Cana dark rum, Demerara syrup, citrus juice, egg white & mint) with any order of Miami Spice. The cocktail, as well as the entire Miami Spice menu, has been curated to pay homage to owners Jason Odio and Executive Chef Michael Beltran’s Cuban roots. The promotion will be available from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

The Atlantic Hotel & Spa

In honor of National Rum Day on August 16, The Atlantic Hotel & Spa with offer $6 Rum Cocktails all day long (made with choice of Bacardi or Cruzan Rum). The Rum Day special is available at the Hotel’s signature oceanfront restaurant the Atlantic Grill or at the Pool Bar located on the 5th Floor Oceanfront Terrace. The Hotel’s ideal tropical, beachfront location and relaxed vibes makes it the prime spot to observe National Rum Day for both guests and locals alike.

Baru Urbano

What’s better than a pastelito with your cocktail? A guava pastelito with your cocktail! Baru Urbano has partnered with Vicky Bakery to bring you the coveted Guava Pastelito Mojito made with Bacardi Rum, mint, lime, and topped with a fresh guava pastelito. Snack on this for only $8 that day at all Baru locations!

Beaker & Gray

Whether shaken or stirred, Wynwood’s notable hotspot, Beaker & Gray is the area’s go-to spot for National Rum Day. Behind the bar, bar manager/owner Ben Potts will serve up a thirst-quenching selection of festive cocktails showcasing the exclusive, one-night only VELVET SLIPPER for $7 – Plantation 3 Star, Velvet Falernum, banana, coconut cream and pineapple.

Keeping things classic, try the ZACAPA OLD FASHIONED ($14) – featuring Ron Zacapa 23 Rum, Demerara, and chocolate bitters. Stirred preferred, the BLACK ORCHID ($14) is a boozy combo-breaker and smokey, served with Diplomatico Reserva, amaro, lucano, vanilla smoke-infused Kronan, and scorched orange.

Or, shake things up with the RUM RUNNER ($14) – also boozy – offers a smuggled fruity flavor, including Bacardi 8, Santa Teresa Claro, blackberry-sage shrub, orange, pineapple, and maduro tincture. For the Happy Hour-goer’s, the DAIQUIRI with Santa Teresa Clara, lime, and sugar is being offered for only $5 all summer-long.

Bitter Truth

The truth hurts sometimes, but the Miami Mamey Daiquiri from Bitter Truth will make you feel a whole lot better. This simple daiquiri is made with rum, lime, sugar, and its secret ingredient, mamey. The daiquiri will be available for $6 on National Rum Day and will definitely make your troubles fade away!

Burlock Coast

Located just steps from the beach, Burlock Coast is known as a rum lover’s paradise. There’s no place else in town like the Burlock Coast Rum Room which holds over 150 varieties of rum. So rum lovers need to look no further for a great place to explore. The restaurant/bar is a legitimate wave-maker, sporting gorgeous views of the Atlantic from both the indoor/outdoor bar and the open, airy dining room.

A killer craft cocktail program,  coupled with delicious cuisine and a lively atmosphere make it the perfect choice for dinner and late night carousing. Featured rum cocktails include the Rum Runner’s Remorse pineapple-infused Fwaygo Rum, Velvet Falernum, pineapple coco-aloe Kombulicious and Tempranillo; Passionate Coco with Coconut Rum, Frangelico, Passionfruit complex fruit and pineapple; Hawai’ian Old Fashioned with Koloa Kaua’I Dark Rum, Cointreau, coconut water and chosen berry ice sphere; the Burlock Ponche made with multiple rums and triple sec mixed together with cinnamon sticks, mint leaves and a plethora of fruits and fruit juices, and much more.

Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Celebrate National Rum Day in style at the iconic Fontainebleau Miami Beach with a variety of experiences to please all rum enthusiasts. The Miami Beach landmark invites guests to enjoy its varied rum offerings throughout the property. For a laidback atmosphere and Tiki-inspired libations, head to Pizza & Burger by Michael Mina for the Lime in the Coconut ($14) – Bacardi Rum, Velvet Falernum, coconut cream and lime; Zombie ($15) – Bacardi, Plantation Proof Rum, Gosling’s 151, cinnamon and lime; and Painkiller ($15) – Pusser’s Navy Rum, Yellow Chartreuse, pineapple, orange and coconut cream.

Revelers can forgo the indoors and cool down with La Côte’s Bleau Passion ($18) – Bacardi Tangerine, St. Germain, cucumber water and passion fruit; La Côte Punch($18) – Bacardi Oakheart rum, Mango and Strawberry Bacardi Rum Float; and the Cannonball Rum ($18) – Starr Rum, St. Germain, strawberries, lime and mint.

For a modern twist on the classic steakhouse experience, pair the Perfect Hemingway ($15) – Diplomatico Exclusiva and Blanco, luxardo maraschino and grapefruit – with a succulent steak at StripSteak by Michael Mina. For a quick cocktail and people watching, head to Bleau Bar in the hotel’s lobby where the tables are the ideal spot to meet, mix and mingle.

JWB Prime Steak and Seafood

Located inside the lobby of Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, JWB Prime Steak and Seafood will offer a complimentary rum tasting for both locals and resort guests with Zacapa Rums from 6 to 8 pm. Crafted with fresh crushed sugarcane in Guatemala, Zacapa Rums are filled with complex flavors from being aged to perfection in the highlands 8,000 feet above sea level. Attendees can also enjoy food specials and live music from Thais & Flavio, a Bossa Nova duo that blends pop and jazz music.

The resort will also offer all of its signature Boat Drinks for a discounted price of $9 at Margaritaville Restaurant, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, Lone Palm Beach Bar and LandShark Bar & Grill. Sample boat drinks include the “5 o’Clock Somewhere” made with Margaritaville Silver Rum, Paradise Passion Fruit Tequila, BACARDI® 151° Rum, orange and pineapple juices, sweet & sour and a splash of grenadine, as well as the “Tranquil Waters” made with Cruzan® Mango Rum, blue curaçao, pineapple juice and mango.

Kiki on the River

To celebrate National Rum Day, Kiki on The River has partnered with Bacardi featuring two cocktails at half price, Kiki’s Kiss ($7) and Lured to Mykonos ($8).

Facundo Bacardi Rum with house-made strawberry and rhubarb yogurt, lemon, strawberry topped with cocoa powder.

Bacardi 8 with falernum aperol, pineapple coconut juice, Creole bitters garnished with toasted coconut shavings and dried pineapple.


The acclaimed new-style Japanese restaurant Kuro, located inside Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, features a newly introduced libation – Jyu Nana – for National Rum Day. Jyu Nana ($15) highlights a bitter profile and is made with Montenegro Amaro, Cruzan Rum, honey, salt, hand-whipped cream and chocolate, topped with puff soba crumbles. Crafted to be approachable, the Jyu Nana can be enjoyed individually or, because of its notes of dark chocolate and molasses, can be paired with one of the restaurant’s delectable dessert creations.

Kuro’s cocktails are whimsical and provide guests with the option to select a drink that most appeals to their particular palate as the cocktails at Kuro are divided into categories based on the five flavor profiles: sweet, sour, bitter, salty and umami.


The casually elegant new restaurant and bar Lightkeepers at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami is located just off the island’s gorgeous waters. It features a contemporary, coastal-inspired dining room, a cool, casual indoor/outdoor bar and a beverage program featuring unique, hand-crafted cocktails.

Named as an homage to the lighthouse keepers who watched over Key Biscayne’s historic Cape Florida Lighthouse in the 1800’s, Lightkeepers has become a premier waterfront dining and imbibing destination. A featured cocktail, the John W.B. Thompson Smoked Old Fashioned made with Ron Cartavio Rum 12 years, LaPhroaig Islay Scotch, Santa Teresa Rhum Orange Liqueur and Orange Bitters, is inspired by the history of the lighthouse. On July 23, 1836, a band of Seminoles attacked the Cape Florida Light, setting the lighthouse tower ablaze. Despite suffering multiple rifle ball wounds and major burns, the assistant keeper, John W.B. Thompson, endured the siege and protected the structure. Though he survived the night, the Cape Florida Light was extinguished from 1836 to 1846.

Living Room

The modern, nocturnal playground Living Room located at the W South Beach Hotel & Residences, is known for its innovative mixology program and artisanal libations. At Living Room, cocktails feature exotic herbs; house-made spices and essential oils; edible flowers, top-shelf spirits and locally sourced organic produce.

For National Rum Day, the Rum With Me ($16) is a refreshing Living Room favorite, with aged dark rum, fresh squeezed lime juice, coconut crème, pineapple, basil, and granulated brown sugar. The Buccaneer ($16) is a pirate’s treasure with aged dark rum, fresh squeezed lemon juice, guava, simple syrup, and ginger.

These globally-inspired cocktails can be enjoyed on one of Living Room’s plush couches or outside on the patio overlooking the pool.

Meat Market

Celebrate National Rum Day by sipping on refreshing libations at Lincoln Road’s chic steakhouse, Meat Market. Since its debut, Meat Market has garnered raves for its contemporary cuisine, creative cocktails and bustling atmosphere, earning the restaurant a reputation as a see-and-be-seen hotspot.

In honor of the holiday, try the MM Mai Tai ($15) made with Ron Zacapa Rum, Don Q Cristal Rum, citrus orgeat, curacao and Cruzan Dark Rum; the 915 Manhattan ($16) made with Four Square Rum, cynar, crème de cacao, Dolin Sweet Vermouth and bitters; or perhaps the seasonal Strawberry Fields ($15) with Havana Club Blanco Rum, strawberry shrub honey, bitter lemon soda and hibiscus rum.

Monty’s Coconut Grove

Monty’s Coconut Grove will be serving up a large assortment of rum-filled drinks, including: the restaurants signature pain removers, which come in three different levels of alcohol content; classic and fruity mojitos, which upon request can be made with mango, pineapple, strawberry or dragon berry fusion rum; and Monty’s frozen favorites, which includes the restaurant’s famous frozen strawberry daiquiri, rum runner, piña colada, Miami vice, and bushwacker. Join the regular happy hour crowd from 4 to 8 p.m. for half off regular priced cocktails as well as additional happy hour specials.

Repour Bar

In honor of National Rum Day, Repour Bar is offering classic rum cocktails with a twist for $10, featuring Oak & Cane Rum and Grander Rum.

Rusty Pelican

Key Biscayne’s iconic dining destination, the Rusty Pelican boasts breathtaking views and a vibrant energy which draws diners in, making it a perfect hotspot for dinner and drinks. Recently, the restaurant unveiled a new craft cocktail program created by Head Mixologist Oscar Amaya.

Guests can celebrate National Rum Day with one of Amaya’s specialty cocktails like the Floridita ($15) — inspired by the historic, first restaurant and cocktail bar in the old city of Havana, which was famous for its rum-based cocktails and was an old haunt of Ernest Hemingway; Bacardi 8, fresh lime juice, sugar cane syrup, egg white, mint, and edible flowers are combined to create the perfect tribute to Cuba in its heyday. Rum lovers will also enjoy the refreshing Agua De Coco ($15) with Bacardi Coconut, coconut water, coconut-lime syrup, and fresh mint.

Sonesta Coconut Grove Miami 

Sonesta Coconut Grove’s widely recognized restaurant, Panorama Restaurant & Sky Lounge, provides for the ultimate spot with spectacular views to celebrate National Rum Day. For one day only, guests and locals can order the Spiced Blood Orange cocktail for $6 off the happy hour menu. Perfect for after a long day in Miami, guests can relax and unwind with the refreshing light rum cocktail, while indulging in a selection of light bites ranging from sweet chili glazed wings to roasted garlic hummus and pita chips, while overlooking breathtaking views of beautiful Biscayne Bay.

Tamara’s Bistro at the National Hotel Miami Beach

Tamara’s Bistro at the National Hotel Miami Beach will be serving up its popular Ti’Punch in honor of National Rum Day. The drink is very popular among the Caribbean islands which makes it a very appropriate choice of beverage to sip on the National’s pool-side terrace. The restaurant will be offering a special price of 2 Ti’Punch cocktails for $19.39, plus tax. The price of the special is very close to the heart of the National as the hotel first opened in 1939.

Vagabond Kitchen and Bar

Vagabond Kitchen and Bar will be whipping up the Abuelita. It’s short, sweet, and strong just like, yes you guessed it, abuelita. This specialty cocktail includes ingredients such as Abuelo Añejo Rum from Panama, Montenegro Amaro Italiano, Coconut and Oregano reduction, lime, bitters, and is dressed to impress with decorative flowers. The Abuelita cocktail is available on the menu for $12.
