With Miami Spice well underway and over 200 restaurants to visit, there’s a lot of eating to do. Focusing your sights on hotels makes it easier (and faster) to start dwindling that list down — you have a bunch of restaurants all in one spot, so you can spend a day dining out and enjoying Miami Spice selections. Case in point: The Confidante.
This year, both Talde and Bird & Bone are participating: The former, which specializes in Pan-Asian cuisine, is offering dinner, while Bird & Bone is letting diners Spice things up for lunch and dinner with Southern cuisine. Whether you try one or both (pro tip: do both) during your visit at The Confidante, expect to leave full.
We recently featured Talde’s new dinner menu, and you’ll find a few of those bites on the Miami Spice list. The Heirloom Tomato — a personal favorite — and the General Talde’s Chicken make an appearance, as do Sweet Pea Samosas and Black Pepper Beef. While there’s no dessert option, Talde lets you double up on entrees by letting you choose a main dish AND a noodles dish. Given our past experiences at Talde, make sure you bring an appetite.
Bird & Bone also offers some great variety on its Spice menus, but let’s be honest: You’re here for the Chef Hales’ Hot Chicken. You’ll find it in all its glory on the dinner menu and in sandwich form on the lunch menu. Other highlights include Florida Cheddar and Chives Biscuits (make sure to use the strawberry preserves), Shrimp and Sea Island Heirloom Grits and Fried Apple Hand Pies.
Regardless of where you eat, your experience at The Confidante needs to end with a drink at Nina’s House — a 1930s-inspired beachhouse. It’s the perfect place to sit back and digest with a Spicy Nina (pineapple, honey crisp apple, cilantro, jalapeño, cana brava rum) or Simple Screw (orange & Grey Goose). If you somehow still have room for food, the spot has its own menu to munch on.
To get the most bang for your buck this Miami Spice season, clear your schedule and enjoy a satisfying day eating around The Confidante. With delectable cuisine behind every corner, you won’t go hungry.
