When we hear the name Faena, our minds immediately think of a place that’s way out of our price range. Fortunately for budget-conscious diners, Casa Faena — the namesake district’s boutique property — offers a financially friendly brunch for those seeking quality food in one of Miami’s hottest areas. It’s Faena without the Faena prices.
The weekend brunch, dubbed “The Not Your Basic Beach Brunch,” knows us too well: Booze is at the top of the menu, and bottomless options are plentiful (#priorities). Mimosas, bellinis and other Sunday staples are available to wash down the hotel restaurant’s expansive menu. Churro French Toast is the highlight of the appetizer section, which also features Banana Belgium Waffles and less guilt-inducing fare like Greek Yogurt and a Berry Bowl.
All of that sweet fare is balanced by savory items like the Chorizo Flatbread and Chilaquiles, the latter of which is a monster of tortillas, Poblano chicken and egg. In fact, most of the portions here are enough to feed at least two people. We found ourselves splitting everything, including the Lobster Eggs Benedict. Unlike other Benedicts, this one had some Miami flare; tostones replaced the usual English muffins — a swap we thoroughly enjoyed.
While we wouldn’t blame you if you dive right into one of the mains, we suggest you balance the heft with Casa Faena’s Summer Salad. It may be winter outside, but this is one salad that’s delicious all year long. Light and refreshing yet still filling, the salad’s mix of grapefruit and watermelon brightened our palate and our day; the lemon vinaigrette was the cherry on top.
Offering fun twists on traditional brunch fare and bottomless beverages PLUS close proximity to the beach, the restaurant has all the elements to make your weekend one to remember. If you’ve been looking for a fun Sunday brunch, Casa Faena should end your search on a high note.
