When your next taco craving strikes, do your stomach a favor and head to Beach Taco. This recent addition to the South of Fifth neighborhood is serving up satisfying Mexican bites at a price that won’t break your budget.
Upon walking in, guests will find an abundance of tasty taco options including The Classic (custom ground beef, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream), Korean BBQ (Filet Mignon, Gochujang Sauce, Napa Cabbage Kim Chi, Crispy Shallot Chips) and the namesake item (Filet Mignon or Chicken, Cheddar Jack, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole). All meat is hormone- and antibiotic-free, and you can really taste the quality.
Chef Michael Castino, formerly of Komodo and Estiatorio Milos, makes sure you get your money’s worth: Each taco of ours was filled to the brim, and we left full. That’s not the case at other spots, where we leave hungry and have to grab more food elsewhere. The highlight of our meal, though, was the tortilla. In our foodie adventures, we’ve encountered bland, super-flimsy tortilla after bland, super-flimsy tortilla. We’re happy to report that the vessels here are warm and fluffy yet have some crispiness to them that make them among our favorites.
Although taco shops are a common sight in Miami, Beach Taco is a cut above the rest. The place has stolen our hearts: Once you experience the hearty fillings, awesome tortillas and the jalapeño queso dip, you’ll be sold, too.
