‘Local Eats’ at Bourbon Steak
Bourbon Steak, the modern American steakhouse from James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina located at Turnberry Isle Miami who brought back their ‘Local Eats’ monthly dinner series last month with Chef Brian Nasajon, owner/executive chef of Beaker & Gray, continues this month with Chef Michael Beltran of Ariete.
The dinner series brings some of South Florida’s most acclaimed young chefs into the kitchen at BOURBON STEAK alongside executive chef Gabriel Fenton to collaborate on a five-course dinner complete with beverage pairings. Dinner is priced at $200 inclusive of pairing, tax and gratuity and begins at 7PM.
According to Fenton, “All of the chefs we’ve invited for the Local Eats series are talented innovators, who are beloved by both critics and customers. We’re working together not only on synergizing the dining experience but making certain the wines and spirits that accompany each course pair perfectly. We’re looking forward to creating some wonderfully memorable meals together.”
Memphis Mondays at Subs and Suds
Subs and Suds, the retro sandwich shoppe that opened April 2018 in Fort Lauderdale’s Riverside Park/Sailboat Bend neighborhood by owner Memphis Garrett (restaurateur behind The Poke House, Growlers & Howlers, and JB & C) is kicking-off the Summer season with the launch of Memphis Mondays. Beginning Monday, May 21, 2018 at 6PM, right after the world-famous Memphis in May BBQ Festival, diners can enjoy discounted Memphis-style pulled pork sandwiches with all the fixins at their casual outdoor space for only $8 with $3 paired beers – akin to a backyard BBQ pig roast!
Jack’s Miami Opens in Brickell
Jack’s Miami is proud to announce that their 2nd location is now open at The Shops at Mary Brickell Village. The original Jack’s Miami, which is located in Wynwood, will now have a second location to call home. This home-style cuisine restaurant has become a staple in and around the Wynwood area and now they couldn’t be more thrilled to cater to the Brickell neighborhood.
Jack’s Miami’s newest location will feature a more confined menu with daily specials. The newest Jack’s Miami is designed as an “express” location catered for delivery and take out. However, it will still have a few tables outside. Signature dishes will be featured daily such as the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich, Nonna’s Homemade Meatballs, and Eggplant Rollatini.
The menu will also include sandwiches that will be served throughout the whole day. Always on the go? Don’t have time to dine in? Jack’s Miami offers take-out and is also available on Uber Eats and Postmates.
Kimpton Hosts Royal Wedding Watch Parties
Head to Kimpton EPIC for a sky-high watch party honoring the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the hotel’s panoramic pool deck. On Saturday, May 19th, guests can catch live coverage of The Royal Wedding at EPIC’s exclusive pool cabanas overlooking Biscayne Bay.
Starting at 7 a.m., guests will enjoy an exclusive à la carte English breakfast service provided by Area 31, including creative tea-time cocktails by lead bartender Benny Hernandez. Over on Miami Beach, Kimpton Surfcomber and The Social Club are inviting guests to brunch like royalty in celebration of the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. On Saturday, May 19th, The Social Club will host a Royal Wedding Celebration featuring a live broadcast of the ceremony, brunch starting at 8 a.m., themed cocktails and a life-size backdrop of England accompanied with wedding-inspired photo props.
Guests can toast to the newlyweds with cocktails such as the Queen’s Delight featuring Stillhouse Whiskey, rosemary syrup, lemon juice and black tea or imbibe with a royal twist on a brunch favorite with Megmosas, made with bubbly and the perfect touch of fresh orange juice.

New Dinner Series at Jaya

Jaya’s indoor dining room, the popular Asian Night Bazaar is now the Asian Night Bazaar Dinner
Launching today (May 11), the Asian Night Bazaar Dinner Series will feature the same fun energy and entertainment that debuted earlier this season but will now include a three-course menu with a complimentary welcome cocktail for $75 per person each Friday. Guests will also enjoy courtyard DJ music along with performances by geisha greeters, contortionists and fire dancers held at 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
The tasting menu will offer a variety of dishes including a first-course of Tuna Tartar, Calamari or Vegetable Tempura; a second-course of Lamb Chops, Snapper or Vegetable Green Curry; and a third-course of a Chef’s Selection of Dessert and Mignardises. There will also be a small bites menu offered at each of hotel’s bars and in their signature courtyard pods for those looking to make the most of the luxurious atmosphere without having a full sit-down dining experience. The small bites menu will feature Salmon Hand Rolls, Oysters, Chicken Satay, and more.

Now Open: Tap 42 at Aventura Mall
Tap 42 proudly announces the opening of its newest location in Aventura Mall on May 2nd, 2018. The 6,300 square-foot restaurant and craft beer bar will open at 19565 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180.
Tap 42 Aventura will include 250+ seats and a 1,200 square-foot patio overlooking the open-air piazza and Aventura Slide Tower, a 93-foot-tall glass and steel slide designed by Carsten Höller. The Aventura location will boast classic Tap 42 interior trademarks, such as distressed wood, rustic lighting features, a large bar installation, and unique seating options perfect for groups.
Tap 42 in Aventura will also feature the restaurant’s recently announced new menu items such as the Flame Grilled New York Strip Steak, Simply Grilled Gulf Snapper, Avocado Turkey Burger Wrap, Truffle Mac & Cheese, and Ice Cream Cookie Super Sundae. The restaurant will offer signature promotions including, Half-Off Prohibition Burger Monday, Wine Wednesdays, and Bottomless Brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
