For budget-conscious diners, Miami Spice lunches are the way to go: You can enjoy three menu selections for $23. That’s a heck of a savings, especially when it comes to upscale establishments like Novikov. The Downtown Miami restaurant’s Asian cuisine can get pricey, but thanks to Miami Spice, foodies of all budgets can indulge in some awesome dumplings and rolls for lunch.
The best part of Novikov’s menu is the variety. There are a ton of options for appetizers and entrees, so the challenge is figuring out which ones to order. Our favorite app was the Shrimp Cilantro Dumplings — nice, plump and flavorful. We’ve also heard good things about the Saffron Sweet Corn Dumplings if that’s more your style. On the lighter side, the Salmon Avocado Roll is available — along with several more choices.
Entree-wise, the Crispy Peking Duck is a must. Sure, you can get a Wok Salmon, a Robata Hanger Steak or the San Pei Chicken, but you NEED the duck in your life. It’s so crunchy and delicious, and the portion size is generous. Other options include Chrashi Donburi and an Eggplant and Tomato Salad. But seriously, get the duck.
Dessert offerings aren’t as varied but are no less tasty. Both selections — Key Lime Tapioca and Umeshu Black Forest — are fairly decadent, but the former is a bit lighter if you’re full from earlier. On that note, all this food for $23 is ridiculous; ordering these items a la carte can easily cost you double that. In terms of Miami Spice deals, this one’s at the top of the list.
