Conrad Hosts Breast Cancer Benefit Dinner

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach hosts a progressive dinner benefiting efforts to kiss breast cancer goodbye. Beginning the night at Terra Mare with welcome frosé and beachfront views, guests will then make their way to the resort’s stylish Atlas Cocktail Lounge for handcrafted cocktails and gourmet lite bites.

Attendees will end the night in the ocean-facing penthouse with live music and a menu of globally-inspired dishes crafted by Executive Chef Jorge Ramos. Open to the public for $125, all proceeds from the event will be donated to Glam-A-THON, which has donated more than $500,000 over the past six years to help fund free mammograms, diagnostic testing and other needs associated with treatment. Veuve Pairing Dinner at Kuro

On Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, Kuro at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Hollywood, will host an exclusive champagne pairing dinner featuring the luxury champagnes of Veuve Clicquot. Hosted by Champagne Specialist of South Florida Brandon Hays, the five-course dinner will be prepared by Kuro’s culinary team led by Creative Culinary Director Chef Alex Q. Becker.

The night will begin with a welcome reception at 6:30 p.m. featuring passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The dinner is priced at $200 per person (excluding tax and gratuity).

Corks and Canvases at Atton

Starting on September 20th, guest will have the opportunity to indulge in unlimited wine and prosecco while learning to paint with a professional! Atton Brickell Miami is partnering with famed Miami-based artist and owner of Paint Vibes Studio, Felipe Lagos. Felipe Lagos — an artist of the Eduardo Lira Art Gallery — will teach guests and locals the art of painting during their 90-minute session from 8:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Felipe attended the New Word School of the Arts and has been an active member of the Miami Art Scene for many years.

Guests can purchase tickets for $50 by booking online at Eventbrite.com. The ticket will include a 90-minute guided paint tutorial session and all the necessary supplies like paint, canvases and brushes. The tickets will also include unlimited wine and prosecco.

The event will take place every third Thursday of the month, listed below are the other upcoming dates:

Tasting Train With Brightline

Brightline, Florida’s new hospitality-focused express intercity passenger rail service, is introducing the Tasting Train, a series of premier culinary experiences. Guests will celebrate the art of winemaking featuring Far Niente Winery at a sold-out event on Friday, September 7.

Connecting South Florida culinary aficionados like never before, Brightline will offer an onboard tasting of premier wines from Far Niente Winery and live entertainment en route frotm West Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale to Miami. Upon arrival at MiamiCentral, guests will enjoy an exclusive tasting of Far Niente Winery’s wine, Napa-inspired cuisine and live music on the 50’ elevated platform at MiamiCentral, offering unparalleled views of the downtown Miami skyline.

Brightline’s Tasting Train departs West Palm Beach at 7 p.m. and Fort Lauderdale at 7:39 p.m., arriving into Miami at 8:14 p.m. The return train departs Miami at 10:13 p.m., arriving into Fort Lauderdale at 10:41 p.m. and West Palm Beach at 11:27 p.m. Celebrity Chef and Miami Native Michelle Bernstein, whose company is catering the event, will also make a guest appearance.

Due to the overwhelming demand, Brightline is excited to announce the next Tasting Train event on Friday, October 5, which will feature iconic and historical wines of the Antinori family winery. Tickets will be available for purchase through our website in the coming days.

New Programming at CHARCOAL

CHARCOAL, The Wynwood Yard’s only full-service restaurant, coasts into September with not one, but two new reasons to celebrate weekdays.

Sunset Wednesdays start tomorrow, September 5th at 5 p.m. and is CHARCOAL’s way of giving back some love to loyal customers and making new friends offering the restaurant’s best-selling dishes at easy-going fares. The set three-course menu includes your choice of dishes like spicy patatas bravas or shishito peppers and hanger steak or Spring Hill Farm Josper-roasted chicken. Finish off with your choice of dessert and wash it all down with a complimentary small pitcher of red or white sangria. Simply pre-purchase your tickets ($25) or purchase on site for your mid-week cheer!

Then, back by popular demand, CHARCOAL translates Miami island vibes into tasty tiki drinks and eats with Tiki Thursdays at CHARCOAL launching on Thursday, September 6th, from 5 p.m. till close. Take time out from your busy schedule to ride the tiki wave with $8 magical tiki libations that enchant, like the Pan American, made with bourbon, hibiscus, Florida orange and lime or the Lover’s Island made with Hennessy, coconut, pineapple and Velvet Falernum. In addition, chow down on island-inspired dishes like Hawaiian skewers, coconut jasmine rice with cilantro and banana-coconut upside down cake!


Kaido to Open in the Design District

Kilgore Culinary introduces Kaido (pronounced Kai-DO), an Asian and Japanese-inspired cocktail lounge set to open in Miami’s Design District in November 2018. Guests will enjoy a cozy Tokyo-style drinking den nestled in one of Miami’s most artistically driven areas, featuring innovative cocktails by in-house mixologist Nico de Soto and thoughtfully prepared Asian dishes developed by renowned chef Brad Kilgore.

As night falls, Kaido’s sleek décor—including a custom made 1,000 Butterfly Knife chandelier—and DJ-ready sound system will make this second-floor lounge a leading force in South Florida’s cocktail renaissance and Miami Design District’s entertainment evolution.

The unique vibe at Kaido will complement the elegant and artistic energy that runs through every street of the Design District. As Kilgore’s first foray into Miami’s hottest locale, the lounge will breath new life into the neighborhood months before his new dining concept Ember brings even more heat in early 2019.

The intimate lounge will have two distinct indoor and outdoor settings, serving as a cozy culinary playground for guests. Diners can elect to watch the artistry of cocktail creation at the bar, relax at one of the oversized banquettes inside, or enjoy a nightcap perched on comfortable sofas and plush ottomans outdoors. Funktion One has been tapped to enhance the sensory experience at Kaido, offering precision sound and cutting edge technology to bring the sounds of guest DJs and world-class playlists to life.

Mixologist Nico de Soto has designed two specialty cocktail menus for Kaido. The first offers his own interesting iterations of straight-forward classics and approachably priced Asian-inspired libations. The second utilizes a wide range of premier ingredients to create elaborate luxury cocktails designed to be sipped and shared. These highly creative, innovative beverages will command a premium.

Additionally, Kaido will feature small plates, crudos, robatayaki and other dishes focusing on fresh ingredients and bright local and international flavors. Kilgore’s unique style will shine in the form of sharable appetizers– such as the Uni Fondue and Wagyu Katsu Sandwich—perfectly complimenting de Soto’s beautiful cocktails and large format drinks for the table and forging a seamless and adventurous culinary marriage in the heart of the Design District.


Now Open: The Brass Tap

Downtown Dadeland has announced that The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar has opened its doors today at the dynamic, urban hotspot. The Downtown Dadeland location occupies 3,144 square feet and features an open air patio perfectly suited for social gatherings and entertainment.
