Ariete Celebrates 3 Years

Inarguably, Coconut Grove’s Ariete is among the restaurants defining dining in Miami. Since opening in2016 the restaurant has garnered a ravenous following and namechecked by everything from Food & Wineto The New York Times. In celebration of its three-year anniversary, Chef/Owner Michael Beltran is throwing a fête complete with live music, drink specials, special menus and, in true Miami fashion, Publix cake.

To help commemorate the milestone on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 6PM – Midnight, the restaurant
will serve a special three-course family-style feast priced at $50 per person. Designed to be shared and intended for indulgence, the menu will feature fan favorites as well as some special surprises.

For an additional $10 per guest, revelers can add Beltran’s famous foie gras as a middle course. Also available will be a limited a la carte menu with signature items such as the famous Chug burger, fritas, and the famed pastrami-style short rib. Since no celebration is complete without dessert, all diners will be treated to a complimentary slice of Publix birthday cake.

$7 select signature cocktails and a 25% discount on bar will be available. Adding to the fun, Chatchow’s Gio Gutierrez will be on hand, pouring creative concoctions at his own pop-up bar.

The party doesn’t end on Sunday as the celebration will also serve as the official kick-off of its new late-night Happy Hour.

Launching on Friday, January 25, 2019, and available every Friday and Saturday henceforth, the new Happy Hour will feature drink specials, late-night bites and a rotating selection of pastelitos by none other than Ariete’s own Pastelito Papi. After-hours specials will be available from 11PM-3AM at the bar, dining room and on Ariete’s cozy patio.

Sunset Event at Cheeca Lodge & Spa

The iconic Cheeca Lodge & Spa will be hosting its very first Sunset, Sangria and Spanish Guitar event this Sunday, January 13 in Islamorada, FL. Internationally acclaimed guitarist Mateo Jampol will be performing from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Beachfront Tiki Bar overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Guests of the resort and locals are welcome to joint this event and sip on the resort’s Sangria Fresca (pictured below) All food and drink will be a la carte pricing.

Special tapas menu features Short Rib Ropa Vieja on Tostone Arroz Con Pollo and a Seafood Paella among other Spanish style cuisine. Click here for more information.


Bark N’ Brunch at Brimstone

It’s officially a paw-ty at Brimstone Woodfire Grill thanks to their fan-favorite Bark N’ Brunch! Kicking it off on Saturday, January 26th from 11:30am to 3pm pet owners will now be able to bring their furry friends to brunch every weekend to enjoy Brimstone favorites like unlimited mimosas.

On the 26th, Brimstone will be serving up complimentary doggie cocktails (alcohol-free of course!), blasting some tunes, and hosting a raffle. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Good Karma Pet Rescue so either way, it’ll be a paw-some time!


New Menu Items at Bird & Bone

Bird & Bone, the southern-inspired restaurant known for its locally sourced menu and unique take on the American culinary landscape, is offering new menu items and a special custom draft beer to pay tribute to this season’s flavors.

Chef Partner Richard Hales introduces sweet and savory dishes including the 24 oz Braised Beef Rib served with Sea Island Heirloom GritsWhole Roasted Spiny Florida Lobster served alongside Southern Mac and CheesePumpkin Squash SoupHoney Baked SalmonPeach Cobbler among others.

Guests can also pair the dishes with Chef Hales’ new custom beer on tap named Comfortably Numb. Chef Hales together with Wynwood Brewing specially curated an American Blonde Ale beer to complement many of his dishes using a combination of German Pilsner Malts, British Crystal Malts, Czech Saaz Hops and spices incorporated in many of his dishes including Chef Hales’ Hot Chicken.

In addition, featured cocktails include the smoked Southern Toastmade with AFROHEAD Rum and the Kentucky Bourbon Flight with Makers 46 Bourbon, Knob Creek Rye and Basil Hayden Bourbon. The seasonal dishes are priced a la carte and range from $9 to $55, while featured beverages range from $7 to $25. The menu items will be available through March.


Opening Soon: Fresh Kitchen

Fresh Kitchen (FK), the popular build-your-own-bowl quick- service restaurant concept, will open its eighth Florida location in the town of Davie, located just outside of Fort Lauderdale. The restaurant will open its doors in early February.

The FK brand reimagined fast food when they opened their first restaurant to overwhelming success in Tampa, Florida’s SoHo district in 2014. This was followed by six more locations including Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Boca Raton, two Orlando locations, as well as an additional Tampa location which
opened last March in Westshore. After Davie, the brand plans to open a third location in the Orlando
area later this year.

FK invites guests to build their own chef-inspired bowls “as fast as they can point.” Made from scratch and fresh-to-order, guests are presented with seasonal ingredients including fresh greens, quinoa, sweet potato noodles, perfectly seasoned rices, roasted veggies, hormone and antibiotic-free grilled meats, tuna poke, home-made sauces and flavorful add-ons. Freshly brewed teas, lightly sweetened juice frescas, and juices are prepared in-house daily and are complemented by cane sugar craft sodas.

The entire menu is 100 percent gluten-free with vegan options available; and all food is
prepared using 100% olive oil. Bowls range from $9.99 for a Six Bowl (two bases, two veggies, two
proteins, one sauce) to $8.29 for a Four Bowl (two bases, one veggie, one protein, one sauce), and
$6.99 for a Kid’s Bowl (one base, one veggie, one protein, one sauce).


Root & Bone Debuts Happy Hour

The new Miami outpost of Root & Bone is bringing some joy to the work week! Beginning Monday, January 14th guests can partake in Happy Hour specials from 4-7PM including: Half-off Well Spirits and Wines by the Glass; $5 Draft Beers; and $8 Specialty Cocktails like the sassy Julia Sugarbaker –Wild Turkey, peach, honey lavender, and fresh lemon or the smoky Heavens to Betsy – Vida Mezcal, Luxardo Maraschino, mint, and fresh lime.

Along with libations, southern-inspired bites on the new menu are a bargain: $4 for Deviled Eggs/Bacon Bites/Smashed Sunchokes (no caviar)/Angel Biscuits or $7 for Warm Pimento Dip/Root Tartare. Root & Bone is located at 5958 South Dixie Hwy in South Miami.


Macallan Pairing Dinner at Rusty Pelican

One of South Florida’s most iconic dining destinations, the Rusty Pelican, will serve as the host venue for a very special pairing dinner on Thursday, January 17th for an equally renowned brand, The Macallan – distillers of Highland single malt scotch whisky.

Priced at $198pp++, the menu — created by Rusty Pelican’s Executive Chef Jimmy Pastor — will pair several of The Macallan’s most coveted releases, including the Rare Cask and Reflexion, with dishes designed to complement the flavors of the selected accompaniments.

The intimate evening gets underway at 7PM with a reception featuring passed bites and a cocktail with The Macallan 12yr Sherry Oak crafted by Rusty Pelican’s Mixologist, Oscar Amaya; guests will be seated for the five-course dinner at 7:30PM.
