Swank Table: A Delicious Production

We will travel for good food — especially when Swank Farm is involved. The 2018/2019 family-style Swank Table dinner series has kicked off, and we had a chance to check out one of the first dinners of the season: a farm-market affair. Not only were we treated to delicious food and drinks from Matador Room, Boulud Sud, Aioli and other great spots, but we had an opportunity to buy goods from some awesome local vendors. If you missed out, don’t worry — there’s plenty more Swank Table events going on.

For those who haven’t been to Swank Table before, it’s a production. Upon arrival, you’re treated to a welcome drink (in our case, a tasty margarita from El Camino) and some light bites from a local restaurant (Brulé Bistro, this time around). After some mingling, you start making your way to the beautiful Pole Barn — but not before some more appetizers. All of the evening’s chefs create an array of tapas for you to enjoy with more adult beverages.

When you finally make it to the barn, the main event starts. The four-course affair features a dish from each of the chefs, and beer and wine is abundant. During the Farm Market Dinner, guests were treated to a ton of food:

  • Lamb Shashouka and Grilled Chinese Broccoli (Clark Bowen – Boulud Sud)
  • Pork Shoulder 3 Ways and Roasted Corn Poblano Salad (Michael Hackman – Aioli)
  • Charred Chili Rubbed NY Strip and Spiced Heirloom Carrots (Harry Capacetti – Matador Room)
  • Pistachio Cake (Sarah Lucia T. – Sarahlu Confections)

We practically had to roll out of there. On that note, let’s talk transportation: Swank Farm is in Loxahatchee. It’s close to West Palm Beach — in other words, far for us Miami folks. We suggest you do what we did: take a Brightline up and carpool over.

Thanks to Brightline, we didn’t have to worry about unexpected traffic or gas; plus if you opt for the premium seats, you can enjoy complimentary alcoholic beverages and snacks (it’s a nice way to pregame). If you do decide to drive, book a hotel. That drive back after eating so much is a doozy. We love the Hilton West Palm Beach because of its proximity to Loxahatchee. It’s also close to CityPlace, so you can keep the party going if that’s more your style.

Regardless of how you get there, Swank Table is worth the trek. To learn more about their upcoming Swank Table events, click here.
