Breakfast is often considered the most important meal of the day. For us, it’s also our favorite meal of the day — so much so that we’re totally up for eating it at all times of day. Unfortunately, around-the-clock breakfast is a rare sight in Miami outside of Denny’s, IHOP and other choice spots; these places aren’t exactly high quality, though. You know what is? Laid Fresh.
Developed by the team behind KYU across the street, Laid Fresh is located inside the old Federal Donuts and Dizengoff spaces. What you’ll find on the menu: egg sandwiches galore. However, you won’t find anything too creative in the sandwich offerings. Instead, you’ll find traditional sandwiches just done really well like the Fried Eggs and Sausage with housemade cheese sauce or the Egg Whites and Avocado. One highlight for us was the Soft Scrambled Eggs Sandwich with melted brie and avocado. It’s so rich and tasty that we’d eat it every day if our cholesterol wasn’t an issue.
On the fancier side of things, there’s the Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich with Napa Slaw and cambozola cheese along with other selections like The Laid Egg and Crispy Herb Potato, the restaurant’s take on latkes. The menu isn’t long, but what’s on it is great. While you wait for your food, grab a seat and play with some Legos or grab some headphones hanging from the ceiling. You can listen to meditative music or heavy metal — the choice is yours.
Complementing all this delicious grub is an array of beverage options including Panther Coffee, Expressed Juice and Sprig (a CBD drink brand). Adults can indulge in a mug of mimosa, beer and wine. In short, Laid Fresh has all the bases covered. Whether you’re looking for an early breakfast or a late one, you”ll find it here.
