To say that Essensia is a great restaurant would be an understatement. Nestled inside The Palms Hotel & Spa, this upscale Mid-Beach restaurant fuses global influences for flavorful dishes that delight the senses. After trying out their latest seasonal fare and getting a sneak peek of their Miami Spice offerings, all the praise in our previous review still stands — and then some.
When we first heard a Pubbelly restaurant would be opening on the mainland, our ears perked up. We love the PB boys, but making it out to the beach to visit their restaurants can sometimes be a hassle. After learning that PB Station would open with the Langford Hotel in Downtown Miami, we waited for construction of the building to finish. And waited. And waited some more.
The hotel, which was scheduled to open last year, finally opened a little over a month ago, and so did PB Station. The New American craft eatery is designed to look like a train station — think Grand Central, not Metrorail — and it certainly took us for a tasty ride. We liked it all, but here’s what we liked the most about this new Downtown hotspot.
Three months in, and we have a serious contender for Best Meal of 2016. Our recent trip to Seagrape at the Thompson Miami Beach was a memorable one from start to finish. The restaurant’s Florida- and Caribbean-inspired (Floribbian?) fare delighted our taste buds throughout the evening and ensured a return visit from us very soon. Here’s why.
If you haven’t noticed, we go out to eat a lot. It’s sometimes hard to keep track of the best spots we’ve visited each month (and week and day). That’s why we’ve decided to put together a monthly list of our top picks. You can expect restaurants both young and old on this list — we’re always discovering new spots on our foodie adventures.
Here are our top picks for February 2016.
When we last visited Cibo Wine Bar on South Beach, it was for a tasty Miami Spice affair. We were invited back to the SoFi restaurant this past week, and this time our visit had a lot less to do with food and a lot more to do with liquor. And instead of ordering drinks at the bar, we were the ones making them.
