Stephen Starr and his projects are no strangers to South Florida — or to us. The Continental, Le Zoo and Steak 954 are all places we love, so naturally we were excited to hear about New York’s Upland opening up on Miami Beach. Helmed by Chef Justin Smillie, the restaurant serves up California-inspired cuisine that’s taken South of Fifth and the city by storm. Stop by for brunch, and you’ll see exactly what all the fuss is about.
Whiskey. We love the spirit (or at least the drinking half of MFP does). So imagine the excitement when we caught wind of Commonwealth, a Miami Beach whiskey bar and restaurant that has taken over the old Automatic Slim’s location.
This excitement increased exponentially when we found out who was leading the kitchen: Daniel Roy, who served as sous chef at Matador Room and worked with Top Chef Jeremy Ford. Chef Roy has crafted a delectable menu with deep smokey flavors, which pairs wonderfully with the extensive selection of whiskey on hand. Emphasis on extensive: There’s over 100 whiskeys to choose from. In other words, you’re going to need an Uber.
Miami Spice is almost halfway done, and we’re diligently eating our way through the 200+ menus available. If you’re trying to find a great Miami Spice deal, we feel you — having so many restaurants to pick from can be overwhelming. But we’ll make it easy for you: go to Meat Market.
The Lincoln Road staple checks all the boxes when it comes to an exceptional Miami Spice experience, and we left the restaurant floored after our filling feast. At $23, their Miami Spice lunch menu is a steal and among the best deals in town. Here’s why.
If you haven’t noticed, we go out to eat a lot. It’s sometimes hard to keep track of the best spots we’ve visited each month (and week and day). That’s why we’ve decided to put together a monthly list of our top picks. You can expect restaurants both young and old on this list — we’re always discovering new spots on our foodie adventures.
Here are our top picks for July 2016. Read more
It took a little over seven months, but we found it: our favorite meal of 2016 (so far). A temporary pop up at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Pizza & Burger has a permanent place in our hearts.
This summer concept at Michael Mina 74 combines two things we love — guess which two — and improves on them exponentially. While the vibe is relaxed and casual like your traditional backyard gathering, the food is some next-level deliciousness.
