Upland Miami Serves Up a Stellar Brunch

Source

Stephen Starr and his projects are no strangers to South Florida — or to us. The Continental, Le Zoo and Steak 954 are all places we love, so naturally we were excited to hear about New York’s Upland opening up on Miami Beach. Helmed by Chef Justin Smillie, the restaurant serves up California-inspired cuisine that’s taken South of Fifth and the city by storm. Stop by for brunch, and you’ll see exactly what all the fuss is about.

Commonwealth: Come for the Whiskey, Stay for the Food

Commonwealth - Flamingo

Whiskey. We love the spirit (or at least the drinking half of MFP does). So imagine the excitement when we caught wind of Commonwealth, a Miami Beach whiskey bar and restaurant that has taken over the old Automatic Slim’s location.

This excitement increased exponentially when we found out who was leading the kitchen: Daniel Roy, who served as sous chef at Matador Room and worked with Top Chef Jeremy Ford. Pizza & Burger: A Match Made in Heaven

Pizza and Burger - Sign 2

It took a little over seven months, but we found it: our favorite meal of 2016 (so far). A temporary pop up at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Pizza & Burger has a permanent place in our hearts.

This summer concept at Michael Mina 74 combines two things we love — guess which two — and improves on them exponentially. While the vibe is relaxed and casual like your traditional backyard gathering, the food is some next-level deliciousness.
