It’s rare that we head down south from our Flagami abode. Going to places like Dadeland is a trek, and it really has to be worth our while for us to make the trip. However, all you have to say is “Barley” and we’re there. The American brasserie recently debuted several new menu items, and we had a chance to try quite a few. If you need a compelling reason to visit Dadeland, Chef Jorgie Ramos is giving you plenty.
Pubbelly Sushi continues its dominance of South Florida’s food scene with a new location in Downtown Dadeland. This location joins outposts in Brickell, Miami Beach, American Airlines Arena and Aventura Mall. If you’ve been to any of the other locations, expect the same consistent quality.
It’s finally here to stay: Downtown Dadeland’s Barley has a new permanent home, and it’s just a few blocks east of its original location. Despite landlord issues, construction setbacks and just about every other problem imaginable afflicting the American brasserie, Chef/Owner Jorgie Ramos and his team haven’t missed a beat and are back to cranking out the quality food that diners have come to expect.
Here are six reasons we’ve loving the new spot.
When you hear the words “mall food,” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? If your first thought is the food court, you’re in good company. For a while, we thought quality dining and the mall should never appear in the same sentence.
That started to change for us when Dadeland Mall opened a new wing in 2014, bringing in a slew of new restaurants. Among them: Earls Kitchen + Bar, a Canadian-based concept specializing in global cuisine. We quickly fell in love and now look for any excuse to return to bae. Our latest excuse: new fall offerings.
If you haven’t noticed, we go out to eat a lot. It’s sometimes hard to keep track of the best spots we’ve visited each month (and week and day). That’s why we’ve decided to put together a monthly list of our top picks. You can expect restaurants both young and old on this list — we’re always discovering new spots on our foodie adventures.
