Pubbelly Sushi continues its dominance of South Florida’s food scene with a new location in Downtown Dadeland. This location joins outposts in Brickell, Miami Beach, American Airlines Arena and Aventura Mall. If you’ve been to any of the other locations, expect the same consistent quality.
When we hear the name Jose Mendin, we immediately think of Pubbelly. Over the years, the beloved brand has taken over the city’s food scene and it shows no signs of stopping. In fact, Pubbelly just opened two new locations of its popular offshoot Pubbelly Sushi — one in Dadeland and the other in Aventura Mall.
While the Pubbelly brand has been busy expanding its reach, Chef Mendin has been busy at Habitat. The restaurant, which replaces Beachcraft at 1 Hotel South Beach, is an exquisite showcase for Mendin’s creative culinary chops. Unlike its now-shuttered predecessor, you’ll find style AND substance here.
Over the years, Wynwood has been adding breweries to its lineup of local businesses. The neighborhood has turned into a beer lover’s paradise, and the addition of Veza Sur Brewing Co. is further cementing the area’s reputation for great local beer. Here’s a closer look.
Last summer, we had a chance to take part in Pubbelly’s popular PB Burger series with fellow food writers and influencers. Each of us worked with Pubbelly’s Jose Mendin to create a custom burger that would sit on the menu alongside the restaurant’s signature items.
If you missed out on the series last time, you’re in luck: It’s Pubbelly Burger Week at Downtown Miami’s Pubbelly Station. An extension of the two-month summer series, Pubbelly Burger Week features 10 different burgers for the taking. This time, though, Chef Mendin worked with Chefs Guillermo Concha and Craig Wolsk on the burgers — and they’re only here for one week.
Earlier this month, the heavily anticipated Pubbelly Sushi at Brickell City Centre opened its doors. Led by Executive Chef Jorge Mijangos, this outpost marks the Pubbelly Boys’ latest venture on the mainland after Downtown Miami’s PB Station and Pawn Broker.
Fans of the original PB Sushi location in Sunset Harbour will find many of their favorite rolls alongside new additions that are sure to become favorites as well. Here’s a closer look at the menu.
