No Name Chinese Adds New Menu Items

For over a year now, Chef Pablo Zitzmann and his team have been cooking up dope Chinese food for the masses day in and day out at No Name Chinese. On any given night, you’ll encounter a packed house — the restaurant is succeeding in a neighborhood that hasn’t been too kind to other eateries.

The reason is simple: No Name Chinese is serious about good food. They’re amazingly consistent — we’ve visited over 10 times and left impressed each time — and their latest seasonal additions are some of our favorite dishes yet.

La Mar: New Menu Items + Old Favorites = A Good Time

La Mar - Fall Inspirations and Classics - Chaufa Aeropuerto

If you were to ask us where to go for brunch on a Sunday, La Mar by Gastón Acurio at the Mandarin Oriental would be one of our first recommendations. The Brickell Key restaurant’s brunch, which we tried last year, was — and continues to be — one of the best weekend deals in town. An extensive buffet spread and unlimited pisco sours? Yes, please.

But it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that we finally stopped in for dinner. Chef Diego Oka has been traveling the globe lately, and he’s come back and put all that worldly inspiration onto the plate. We were fortunate enough to take part in a 12-course affair that highlighted classic La Mar dishes as well as some new additions (shout out to Chef Oka for the hand-written menu).

Twelve courses is a lot, so we’ll keep this short and sweet. Cue the food porn.

carrabas

We have a soft spot for Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Growing up, we found ourselves there for many a family occasion. Graduations, birthdays and other milestones were celebrated at the notable national chain.

Before our most recent visit this past week, it had been years since we last set foot inside the restaurant. After last week’s visit to check out the newly launched menu, we’ll definitely be back a lot sooner.

Toscana Divino: A Can’t-Miss Happy Hour

Toscana Divino, located in the heart of Mary Brickell Village, has a seen a slew of changes since our last visit this past year. Chef Billy Devlin, who was promoted after the departure of Julian Baker, and Bar Manager Douglas Da Cruz Jr. (formerly of Shikany and Oak Tavern) have added their personal touch to the Italian restaurant’s food and beverage programs – and we’re pretty excited.

We were invited to check out the new post-work offerings by our friends over at HedonistShedonist. After spending about two hours eating and drinking our way through the menu, it’s safe to say that this is one of our new favorite spots after a long day’s work. Just look at this ridiculous menu.
