This past Tuesday, we teamed up with Coral Gables Love to host our second Coral Gables Food Tour. The tour took diners to three different neighborhood restaurants for good food, good drinks and good conversation. From 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., guests enjoyed bites and libations at Angelique Euro Cafe, Cibo Wine Bar and OBBA Sushi & More.
It took a little over seven months, but we found it: our favorite meal of 2016 (so far). A temporary pop up at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Pizza & Burger has a permanent place in our hearts.
This summer concept at Michael Mina 74 combines two things we love — guess which two — and improves on them exponentially. While the vibe is relaxed and casual like your traditional backyard gathering, the food is some next-level deliciousness.

“I’m Stevie, a handsome, sweet, loving 7-year-old boy! I was recently neutered and had my dental done. I’m recovering well and will be ready for my forever home soon. I’ve adjusted to living with other dogs well, am house trained and am great with kids. Are you the perfect family for me?”
.To adopt Stevie, fill out an application at www.compassionatepugrescue
#FindMeAHomeFriday is a campaign by Compassionate Pug Rescue and Miami Food Pug to help South Florida pugs find a forever home. Each Friday this month, we will be photoshopping a rescue pug available for adoption into an MFP food picture. For more details on the original campaign, visit the campaign page.
When Downtown Dadeland favorite Barley closed in February due to leasing issues, we knew Chef Jorgie Ramos wouldn’t waste any time finding a new space for his classic American comfort food restaurant. The talented chef fought tooth and nail to keep the place open despite major landlord issues over the years.
Now, Barley has a new landlord and a new Downtown Dadeland location that’s set to open later this year. Until then, Chef Ramos is keeping busy with a new pizza and oyster pop-up concept: Faith and Pizza. After checking out the Italian gastropub/raw bar a few weeks back, you can consider us converted.
When people have asked us for restaurant recommendations lately, we’ve been finding ourselves naming more and more restaurants from 79th street and the surrounding areas. With new spots like The Anderson, PINCH Kitchen and Antica Mare opening in the neighborhood, NOT bringing up MiMo/El Portal/Ironside/Upper East Side (or whatever you want to call it) in culinary conversation is a glaring omission.
But before all these new spots started coming in, there was Mina’s Mediterraneo. The restaurant, which specializes in Middle Eastern cuisine, has been serving up Turkish, Greek, Spanish, French and Italian flavors since 2013 — pretty good for a Miami restaurant. It wasn’t until just this year, however, that we discovered this local favorite. Shame on us because the food is exceptional.
