For us, plant-based cuisine is hit or miss. Some restaurants innovate and make their vegan menu appeal to all diners, while others are simply happy catering to their niche. Planta falls into the former category: South Beach’s latest vegan restaurant is a feast for carnivores and herbivores alike.
Miami is no stranger to plant-based cuisine. Casual eateries that cater to vegetarians and vegans are a dime a dozen, especially here in South Florida where everyone’s busy working on their beach body. What’s rare, though, is a plant-based place that’s not just grab-and-go or counter service. Enter Plant Miami, a refined operation that successfully fills this particular niche.
It’s been a long time coming, but Soul Tavern is finally open. The Miami Beach meat-free gastropub was set to open in late 2016, but permitting and other city headaches pushed the date back to this summer. Thankfully, diners no longer have to wait for their fix of flavorful vegan and vegetarian cuisine. Variety is the spice of life, and as you’ll quickly see, Soul Tavern’s menu has a lot of it.
