Salumeria 104: An Unforgettable Dining Experience

Every day, a new restaurant opens in Miami … or at least it seems like it. Given Miami’s fierce food scene, odds are they won’t last. It takes a lot for a restaurant to withstand the test of time and the city’s fickle food audience. Salumeria 104 has been a Midtown staple for years, and unlike other restaurants in the area, it’s succeeding — so much so that it’s expanded to the space next door (and to Coral Gables).

That growth says a lot. But despite it being open for a while now, we never actually visited Salumeria 104 until last month. We regret not visiting sooner.

Oyster fans have a new Miami eatery to visit and dig into their favorite mollusk: Midtown Oyster Bar. Helmed by Angelo Masarin of Salumeria 104 fame, MOB brings an exceptional — and extensive — New England oyster menu to the bustling Midtown Miami neighborhood; touches of Mediterranean and Latin influence have been brought along for the ride as well.  We had a chance to try out some of the menu and speak with Masarin himself about the new concept.
