Dining out can get expensive. This is especially true now that Miami Spice is over. Where have all the good deals gone? One of them has gone to Cantina La Veinte in Brickell, where guests can indulge in a satisfying three-course lunch for just $25. It’s a bargain that you won’t find anywhere else.
Within River Yacht Club — a Miami riverfront restaurant, bar and yacht club — you’ll come across one of the best Japanese dining experiences in the 305: Dashi. Ex-Kuro Executive Sushi Chef Shuji Hiyakawa is leading this “restaurant within a restaurant” concept, which serves up progressive Asian fare paired with an incredible view. Sit down and strap in for a delicious meal that you’ll be thinking about long after you’re done eating.
With over a dozen locations and many more in the works, STK is doing something right. The steakhouse recently double downed in Miami, opening a second location in Downtown. If you’ve been to the South Beach outpost, you already know what to expect: quality American fare and a fun vibe.
When we think of great happy hours on Miami Beach, Semilla always comes to mind. Their Monday-Saturday specials are hard to beat: Deeply discounted beverages and bites draw droves to this modern gastropub on Alton Road and 13th Street. $6 tapas and cocktails? Count us in.
But while these specials get much of the spotlight here, there’s a ton of other satisfying selections to be had. Chef Frederic Joulin mixes French, Spanish and Italian influences to create an extensive menu that can please even the pickiest of eaters. Look beyond the happy hour selections, and your taste buds will be handsomely rewarded.
It’s easy to miss Lekoke Wine & Bites while you’re driving down SW 8th Street, more popularly known as Calle Ocho. The cozy, unassuming wine bar doesn’t have the giant signs that hot spots like Ball and Chain, Azucar and other Little Havana staples have — blink and you’ll pass right by it. But although Lekoke lacks the snazzy window dressing of its neighbors, it deserves just as much of your attention.
