Earlier this year, we had one of our favorite meals ever at The Alley, a pizzeria and gelato concept from The Betsy Hotel. So when the invite came to check out The Betsy’s other restaurant — LT Steak & Seafood — we didn’t hesitate to RSVP. That swift response was warranted: The steak and seafood at LT is not to be missed.
“Whoa.” That was our reaction after finishing our meal at BLT Steak, the South Beach steakhouse that has a new lease on life inside Iberostar Berkeley Hotel. Back in early 2016, the restaurant closed up shop on Ocean Drive and bid its time to make a triumphant return. If our recent dinner was any indication, BLT Steak 2.0 has succeeded.
When it comes to brunch, there are several things that separate great spots from mediocre ones. We love big menus, stiff drinks and great views. At Stephen Starr’s Steak 954 inside W Fort Lauderdale, the weekend brunch has all of that — and more. If it’s a fantastic meal you want, it’s a fantastic meal you’ll get.
On August 1, our favorite time of the year arrives: Miami Spice. The two-month-long event lets diners try out prix-fixe menus at over 200 restaurants throughout the city. Spending $23 for lunch or $39 for dinner gets you a three-course affair, which is a steal depending on the eatery.
With so many choices available, it can take forever to find the best deals. One of the better ones we’ve come across is at Tamara’s Bistro. Located within the National Hotel on South Beach, the bistro prides itself on international cuisine with a Miami twist. It should also pride itself on offering diners a great value during Miami Spice.
Opening a successful restaurant in Brickell is no easy feat. As one restaurant survives its first year in the neighborhood, several others close without reaching that milestone. Porcao, a farm-to-table steakhouse that once occupied 901 Brickell Plaza, shuttered after a few short months. Previous tenants also met a similar grim fate.
Garzón, a family-run restaurant that fuses Uruguayan, Italian, French and Argentinian influences, has now taken over the same spot. Does it have what it takes to succeed where other ventures have failed? Our answer: absolutely. Read more
