This past Wednesday, StarChefs took over Marlins Park for an awards and tasting gala to showcase South Florida’s Rising Stars. The affair began with a VIP reception and continued with an awards presentation behind home plate. During the ceremony, top toques, artisans and other local industry stars were honored.
After the awards, the crowd headed into the stadium concourse to visit over 20 booths serving up beautiful dishes and diverse libations from the honorees. Among our favorite dishes of the night: the beet-potato causa with king crab from Chef Diego Oka (La Mar), the praline bonbons and raspberry mousse from Chef Sylvain Bortolini (Faena Hotel), the sweet bread Milanese from Chef Alex Chang (Vagabond) and the blue crab shumai from Chef Brad Kilgore (Alter).
