Sette Osteria: It’s All Good

There’s no shortage of Italian restaurants in Miami. You can find a bunch in just about every neighborhood. But here’s the thing: They’re not all good. Sette Osteria is good — heck, it’s great. At first glance, the menu might seem like the usual stuff you can find anywhere else, but Sette Osteria does them all so well. By the end of our meal, we were beyond satisfied. And you will be, too.

So what should you order? Two words: CHEESE BOARD. In other words, the Tavolozza di Formaggi — a mix of cheeses, fig jam, honey and bread that had us debating ordering a second one. Fortunately, we didn’t as we needed to save room for the main attractions like the Fettucine all Bolognese; it’s simple and perfect. You can never go wrong with housemade pasta, bolognese sauce and Parmigiano Reggiano — never.

On the pizza side, there are plenty of pies but we opted for the Regina with buffalo mozzarella and basil. ::smacks lips:: Again, there’s not much to it but damn it’s delicious. The same can be said for the Pollo alla Milanese, which is as big as it is tasty. Despite only ordering a few items, we had leftovers for days (and days). You will not leave Sette Osteria hungry. Especially since you need to get dessert before you leave.

Sure, you could order the tried-and-true tiramisu but we suggest you set your sights on the Italian cheesecake. It’s literally just cheesecake and wild berries sauce, and it’s one of our new favorite desserts. That’s the beauty about Sette Osteria — they don’t need flashy ingredients or anything avant-garde. The food speaks for itself, and we heard it loud and clear.

Sette Osteria is located at 2103 NW 2nd Ave. in Wynwood. For more information, visit their official website or call 305-576-8282.
