Common Threads, a not-for-profit organization, which provides hands-on cooking and nutrition education to children, families and teachers in underserved communities, is teaming up with celebrity chefs to host its Second Annual Cooking for Life Sunday Brunch on Sunday, September 25 from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

The event, chaired by Superintendent Alberto Carvalho and Chef Michelle Bernstein, will bring together a select group of the country’s most renowned chefs to raise funds to support current programs being held in 108 M-DCPS schools and partner sites. “I am honored to Co-Chair the Cooking for Life Sunday Brunch for a second year in a row. Teaching children and families how to cook nutritious, healthy meals so they can take control of their physical and emotional health is meaningful for me,” said Bernstein. “Common Threads joyful and affirmative hands-on curriculum has made a significant impact on children and families in South Florida, and with our continued support it will continue to flourish through school and community partnerships.”

In addition to Bernstein, participating chefs include Chef Richard Ingraham as well as Lindsay Autry, Aaron Brooks, Adrianne Calvo, John Critchley, Jamie DeRosa, Amaris Jones, David LeFevre, Anita Lo, Dena Marino, Michelle Minotti, Dale Talde, Cesar Zapata, and Mark Zeitouni.
