Gorilla City Opens at Tripping Animals Brewery

Gorilla City Meats & Sandwiches, the popular Miami pop-up shop, will open inside Tripping Animals Brewery in Doral on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. With sold out stints at Box Elder, Union Beer Store, Lincoln’s Beard, and Phuc Yeah, the concept—which focuses on house-roasted and carved-to-order meats—will open with at least eight hot and cold sandwiches and five platter options.

The menu will include the industry favorite, District P’1’G, made with house roast pork loin, caramelized onions, pepper jack, and garlic aioli; and P-A-V-O, with house roasted turkey, cranberry slaw, and garlic aioli. The finalized menu will include a vegetarian sandwich option.

Part meat shop and part sandwich shop, Gorilla City takes inspiration from classic delis and American BBQ cookouts. Gorilla goers will be able to order meat platters by weight, including pulled pork, Italian style roast pork, roast beef (hot), smoked pork loin, and smoked turkey (hot).

All sandwich orders are accompanied by a choice side: Selections include potato salad (vegetarian), roasted potato (vegan), mac & cheese (vegetarian), tomato & cucumber salad (vegan), broccoli rabe (vegan), choice of three slaws, or roasted mushrooms (vegan).

From his start at his mother’s bodega to slinging sandwiches across Miami, Gorilla City Sandwiches and Seven Zero Hospitality owner and founder, Julian Uribe, carries over twenty years of experience in the food, beverage, and service industry. His repertoire includes management, operations, and service positions at The Ritz-Carlton South Beach, The Dutch, and Juvia.

In the coming months, Gorilla City plans to host food and beer pairings, limited time specials, holiday meat orders, and introduce dessert options. Gorilla City is available for private events for up to 150 people. Gorilla City’s operating hours will reflect those of Tripping Animals Brewery (closed Mondays).

The donut will be available for a 1-day-only preview on Thursday, November 14th, before the fan-fave returns to the menu for a full two-week period in January.
