Travel is one of life’s greatest pleasures, but it’s not exactly the most affordable. With Area 31, though, you can experience cuisine from all around the world without breaking the bank. Last month, the restaurant debuted a new monthly series — Menu Trotting With Chef Wolfgang Birk — that highlights a specific region’s fare for an entire week. At $55 (and $20 for an optional wine tasting), it’s a steal.
Last month, Fi’lia opened its doors at SLS Brickell and joined the ever-changing, ever-growing food scene in Brickell. Although Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in Miami, Fi’lia is proving itself to be a cut above the rest — and then some.
That should come as no surprise considering the name behind the concept. If you’ve ever visited one of Chef Michael Schwartz’s restaurants, you know what you’re getting yourself into: exceptional food in an unpretentious setting. And that’s exactly what you can expect at Fi’lia.
When we first visited Il Mulino two years ago for Miami Spice, we had no idea what to expect. All we knew was that the food was great. We didn’t know that we would be treated to an exquisite dinner AND show.
You see, everyone at Il Mulino is treated like a very important person, from the minute you walk in to the minute you walk out. The staff immediately gets to work pampering you and making sure your meal is a five-star affair. Combine that level of service with exceptional Italian food, and you’re ensured a stellar dining experience.
That’s exactly what we experienced two years ago during our first visit, and that’s exactly what we experienced two weeks ago on our latest visit.
