On Sunday, September 25, Common Threads hosted its 2nd annual Cooking for Life Sunday Brunch at The Confidante Miami Beach (formerly The Thompson). Hosted by Superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools Alberto Carvalho and Chef Michelle Bernstein, the event brought together the community for a great cause: fighting childhood obesity.
Common Threads, a not-for-profit organization, which provides hands-on cooking and nutrition education to children, families and teachers in underserved communities, is teaming up with celebrity chefs to host its Second Annual Cooking for Life Sunday Brunch on Sunday, September 25 from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
This past weekend, Common Threads launched its inaugural Cooking for Life Festival. The three-day celebration brought together the community and culinary superstars for a fun, educational event to support the nonprofit’s mission: fighting childhood obesity by teaching kids and families the importance of healthy cooking. In other words, cooking for life.
Common Threads, a national non-profit organization fighting childhood obesity by teaching kids healthy cooking skills, is taking over Miami with its inaugural Cooking for Life Festival on April 17-19. The weekend-long fest, which features acclaimed chefs from the 305 and abroad, will provide many fun-filled opportunities to celebrate healthy cooking.
