A lot has happened since our last post in March. We had hoped the pandemic would have died down by now, but the latest stats prove otherwise. As a result, businesses that reopened have started to shut down again — including restaurants. There’s no other way to put it: the situation sucks.
Due to the fluid nature of everything going on, the blog has taken a backseat. We will update when we have something to write about, but right now, restaurants are just trying to stay alive. Even though we haven’t updated our site in a while, we’ve still been busy. Here’s a quick list of what we’ve been up to the last few months.
We’ve been writing for a new site called Dish Miami (dishmiami.com). We’re regular contributors, so check it out for some cool stories — like our first post-quarantine dining experience — and Best Of lists by yours truly.
We’re also Food Editors at Biscayne Times (biscaynetimes.com), a monthly newspaper distributed along the Biscayne Corridor. Every month, we have a fun column and we maintain the publication’s Dining Guide, which is dedicated to takeout and delivery right now.
Finally, we’ve been guest editing for The New Tropic (thenewtropic.com). Every other Friday, you’ll have our food-focused musings delivered straight to your inbox. Expect our take on current developments in the restaurant scene along with a roundup of local news.
If you don’t already follow us on social media, we invite you to do so. We’re always picking up takeout and ordering delivery to show our support, and you can follow along on our adventures there. We’ll still continue to update the blog sporadically — we’re thinking of bringing back Nom News very soon — so keep checking back. Stay safe out there; we’ll see you soon.
