Aviv to Open at 1 Hotel South Beach

This Fall, 1 Hotel South Beach is set to welcome Aviv, a new restaurant by acclaimed Chef Michael Solomonov and Restaurateur Steve Cook, of their five-time James Beard Award-winning hospitality group, CookNSolo. The restaurant will offer a refined culinary adventure that embraces ancient cooking methods paired with the modern energy of Miami and Tel Aviv. Guests will enjoy vibrant and soulful cuisine steeped in the rich flavors of Israel.

Since opening their groundbreaking Philadelphia-based James Beard award-winning restaurant, Zahav, in 2008, the duo have blazed a path for bringing the dynamic, multi-cultural cuisine of Israel to national prominence. Their sixteen year exploration of Israel’s food culture through a half dozen unique restaurants has helped bring Israeli food to the forefront of modern American dining.

At Aviv, guests can expect dishes like Yemenite-style bread rolled by hand to accompany Solomonov’s world-famous hummus, an array of mezze plates that radiate spice, and kebabs grilled to order over charcoal in an open kitchen.

Drinks at Aviv will center around easy-drinking, citrus-forward cocktails that evoke a breezy beach feeling, and a wine list featuring wines from Israel, Lebanon, and the wider Eastern Mediterranean. The 186-seat restaurant will feature indoor and outside seating as well as a dedicated bar and lounge for guests to enjoy a signature cocktail before dinner or for a nightcap while embracing Miami’s vibrant nightlife.

Aviv will be located on the ground floor of 1 Hotel South Beach at 2341 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL.

Taquiza Debuts Happy Hour

For the first time in its nearly 10-year existence, Taquiza, Miami’s definitive destination for authentic Mexican tacos and street fare, has launched a taco happy hour! Formerly, happy hour (and any special event or promotion) only included a drink deal, but due to increasing demand, Taquiza is now offering $3 tacos, $7 margaritas by the glass, and $28 margarita pitchers Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 PM in North Beach. The $3 tacos in question include al pastor, carnitas, and pollo (regularly priced at $6, $4.50, and $4.50 each, respectively).
