Autism Acceptance Month at InterContinental Miami
InterContinental Miami will once again pay tribute to Autism Acceptance Month throughout the entire month of April. For the fourth consecutive year, the iconic downtown property will gleam blue, and for the second year in a row, the hotel will partner with the Dan Marino Foundation (DMF) to help raise funds and awareness for this important cause. Founded in 1992 by Miami Dolphins NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino and his wife Claire, DMF was established after their son Michael was diagnosed with autism that year.
The hotel’s exterior and lobby, including the renowned Henry Moore “Spindle” sculpture, will be illuminated in blue, a color that signifies calm and acceptance. At Toro Toro, the Pan-Latin steakhouse located on the lobby level, guests can enjoy a limited edition Blue La Bomba dessert all month long. This specialty version of the restaurant’s famous interactive dessert is priced at $28; and features a blue chocolate half sphere filled with cream cheese mousse, dulce de leche, strawberry ice cream, fresh berries, cookie crumbles, and vanilla and berry sauce. The dessert is perfect for sharing with two or more people. A portion of proceeds from the month’s sales will benefit the Dan Marino Foundation.

New Spring Menu at Bulla
Debuting Wednesday, April 2 Centurion Restaurant Group’s Bulla Gastrobar will showcase the flavors and textures of Spring with its new seasonal menu. Curated by Culinary Director Felix Plasencia, the new menu selections were developed to perfectly complement the weather and take advantage of seasonal availability, offering diners fresh new options that showcase the Spanish restaurant’s innovative flair.
The menu starts off with appetizer highlights including Clams and Artichoke, a traditional Spanish dish, made with fresh artichoke confit, white wine and a Basque seafood sauce that blends the briny, juicy flavor of clams for a light dish that evokes the Mediterranean. Cazuela de Hongos, a mushroom medley with bacon, béchamel, mozzarella cheese, crispy Serrano ham, piquillo pepper confit, and a fried egg is comforting and elegant at the same time.
Moving into the main courses, Bulla’s renditions of classic Spanish dishes with a twist include newcomers like Corvina a la Bilbaina made with premium olive oil, garlic, chile de árbol, and aromatic guindilla peppers served with crispy traditional patatas panaderas; and Huevos Rotos made with fried eggs, french fries, and Maldon salt. Guests can have the choice of a mushroom medley or thin Spanish-style sausage with this dish.. Paella lovers will enjoy Fideua de Calamares – a Valencian version of the classic dish – toasted noodles with calamari, bacon, garlic, and a squid ink aioli, finished in the oven to create a crispy top layer.
For a sweet finish, Ponche Segoviano– vanilla sponge cake filled with pastry cream, mixed berry compote and powdered sugar in a delicate marzipan crust, lightly caramelized for a golden finish, will satisfy cravings without overwhelming.
To complement the new seasonal dishes, the Bulla team has created a slate of cocktails and mocktails notable for smooth, Spring flavors. The Gin Thyme blends gin, lemon juice, thyme syrup, crème de violette, and egg whites, finished with Angostura bitters for a floral, citrusy balance. For a non-alcoholic refresher, try the Spicy Peach – sweet peach purée, jalapeño syrup, lime juice, and soda water. These exclusive seasonal offerings embody the fresh, bright flavors of Spring offering a unique culinary experience. These items are limited editions, available only for the season.
