Taste of Tennis Returns to W South Beach on March 21

On Monday, March 21st, W South Beach will host the 2nd Annual Taste of Tennis Miami to kick off professional tennis in Miami. The event brings together professional athletes, top chefs and luxury brands for an unforgettable evening of gourmet food, interactive sponsor experiences, signature cocktails and appearances by the world’s best tennis players.

Tennis personalities and local celebrities will be paired with some of Miami’s best chefs to “serve Up” a unique food tasting experience that embraces Miami Beach’s chic lifestyle synonymous with W South Beach. Two-Time Grand Slam Winner and former World #1 Victoria “Vika” Azarenka, American top-ranked men’s single player Sam Querrey will be among the top tennis professionals participating.

This year’s chef lineup consists of some of Miami’s finest such as Andrew Carmellini (The Dutch), Mike Pirolo (Bazi), Dustin Ward (BLT Prime), Diego Solano (Bulla Gastrobar), Stuart Cameron (Byblos), Paolo Dorigato (Dolce Italian), Lucas Marino (Driftwood Room), Gilberto Arriaza (Gilbert’s Bakery), Kerry Heffernan (Grand Banks), John Iatrellis (Lure Fishbar), Piyarat Potha Arreeratn, also known as Chef Bee (Naiyara), Patrick Reholz (Quality Meats), Timon Balloo (Sugarcane Rawbar & Grill), Giselle Pinto (Sugar Yummy Mama) and Loris Navone (Tamarina).

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit FIU College of Architecture + The Arts. “We are thrilled to bring this event back to Miami. With more chefs and pro tennis players for guests to interact with, this year’s event promises to be even more exciting than 2015!” said AYS President Judi Lerner.

John Stuart, Executive Director of the FIU College of Architecture + The Arts | Miami Beach Urban Studios pointed out that “innovation and technological advances bring all the pieces together into a supportive ecosystem from the most advanced techniques in food preparation and the latest materials technologies for tennis footwear and racquets, to some of the most advanced 3D printing technologies being studied by students at FIU.”
