Great drinks will only get you so far in Brickell. With so many bars and lounges in the financial district, visitors have seemingly limitless options for a good time. But SAAM at SLS Brickell isn’t just another lounge — it’s much more than that. By pairing memorable cocktails AND bites in a space that just exudes “cool,” the indoor/outdoor venue will quickly become one of your favorite Brickell haunts.
SAAM is big. The size of the place caught us off guard. As your evening progresses, though, you’ll see why the 2,800-square-foot is as large as it is: It fills up. And considering the caliber of cocktails, that’s no surprise. Specialty drinks like the GinTonic (self-explanatory) and Cuba Libre y Celebrando (rum, Coca-Cola, Angostura bitters and lime) are perfect for enjoying outside on a beautiful — aka not-sweltering — Miami day.
More exotic drinks like the Pink Punk Lemonade (gin, raspberries, lemon, soda, peaty malt scotch) feel right at home inside SAAM, where antiques, African masks and other lively decor give the space a life of its own. Hungry? Italian small bites from Michael Schwartz’s Fi’lia are available to balance all the booze. The crowd favorite Snapper Tartare makes an appearance on the menu along with the Puttanesca Pizza and a few other staples. If there’s one item you need to try, though, it’s the Meatball Sliders. We couldn’t stop talking about them.
Lounges may be a dime a dozen in Brickell, but SAAM is the only one you need to concern yourself with. All we wanted were good drinks, good food and good times, and the venue delivered on all fronts. With a view to boot, you won’t be leaving SAAM anytime soon.
