Minnow Bar: Fun Flavors Galore

When we hang out on South Beach, It’s usually above 12th Street and Washington Avenue. There’s really nothing to draw us any further south, except for maybe a few spots in SoFi. Scratch that: There used to be nothing.

Thanks to Minnow Bar at Kimpton Angler’s Hotel, that’s all changed. Here, Chef Julian Garriga and Bar Chief Chris Resnick are putting out some of our favorite bites and cocktails in all of Miami Beach. If you’re a fan of good drinks and good seafood, you’re in for a good time.

The Local Craft Food + Drink: Where Flavors Flourish

Change is scary for most people, but not for The Local Craft Food + Drink’s Phil Bryant. At the Coral Gables gastropub, the chef actively embraces it in his Southern cuisine. But life is all about second chances, right? Well, we’re glad we went back. Little did we know that we would enjoy one of our favorite meals of 2016 here — and one that had us immediately asking, “Did we just become best friends?”

Tequila Don Julio’s ‘Farm to Shaker’ Series Stops in Miami

Don Julio - Farm to Shaker

Tequila: It’s a spirit that has fueled many unforgettable nights and made us forget a few, too. Whatever your relationship with the Mexican liquor — good/bad/casually dating/just friends — there’s no denying that it’s synonymous with one of America’s favorite reasons to drink: Cinco de Mayo.

To get us ready for the holiday of bad decisions, Tequila Don Julio invited us to a Farm to Shaker dinner with a food and cocktail menu made by Cantina La Veinte’s Santiago Gomez and the team behind Cocktail Cartel. Held at Mariano Moreno Culinary Institute, the event opened our eyes to the world of tequila beyond clear and gold colors. We knew that the spirit could be used to make some awesome (and dangerous) cocktails, but little did we know that cooking with it could result in some awesome dishes, too. Read more
