When we hear the words “Ocean Drive,” one thing comes to mind: tourist traps. High-quality, reasonably priced food is not something we typically associate with the Miami Beach street. Except for one BIG exception: LT Steak & Seafood at the Betsy Hotel.
LT Steak & Seafood — which wowed us back in April — is serving up an assortment of new dishes for Miami Spice along with some old favorites. It’s a Miami Spice must.
If you know us, you know we love variety. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Miami Spice restaurants that give diners an array of selections are awesome. And LT Steak & Seafood does not hold back. Appetizers include Prime Steak Tartare (our favorite dish at LT) and Pâté de Campagne; both are worth checking out if you’re fans of tartare and pâté. The Kale Caesar with an anchovy lemon dressing and pine nuts is another highlight should you want something lighter.
For entrees, there are the obvious steak and seafood selections along with more adventurous fare. The Filet Mignon is always a solid choice here, but we suggest opting for something a little more out of your comfort zone; you can always get some great steak here.
Our suggestion: either the South East Family Farms Pork Chop or the Olive Oil Poached Local Golden Tile. While the proteins stand on their own, the real magic is when you mix all the elements of the plates together — that pomegranate-beaujolais sauce for the fish is divine. Another notable choice is the Wagyu Pastrami Reuben Bao Buns. We’d never think to combine a Reuben with bao buns, but Chef Danny Ganem made it work marvelously.
Also included with Miami Spice are sides like Crispy Fingerling Potatoes and Grilled Pluots (yum). Four dessert options are available, too, such as Warm Carrot Cake and Pear Frangipane Tart. You can close out your meal on a lighter note or throw caution to the wind with decadence — your call.
As you can see, you get a lot at LT Steak & Seafood for $39. You work hard for your money, so make the most of it by booking a table and doing Miami Spice right.
