Havana Harry’s Reopens October 19

Miami’s beloved Cuban comfort-food destination returns to Coral Gables on Monday October 19, welcoming back the recipes, generous portions and warm hospitality that have defined it for more than three decades. The restaurant will initially open for lunch and dinner, with breakfast returning on December 1.

After more than a year behind closed doors, Havana Harry’s is welcoming Miami back. The first 50 diners to walk through the doors on October 19th will receive a gift card valued at $20 for a return visit. For the week spanning Monday, October 19-Monday, October 26, all diners spending a minimum of $10 will receive a free menu item, choosing from a mojito, Cuban style tamal, dulce de leche flan, or cafe Cubano.

Located at 4612 South LeJeune Road, the sprawling Coral Gables landmark returns with a fresh, relaxed look that brings more color, culture and subtle tropical influences into the space, from green leather booths to lush greenery, mosaic tiling and traditional Cuban-inspired art. But the spirit of the place hasn’t changed: the generous portions, approachable pricing, and neighborhood warmth that guests have loved for years remain at the heart of the experience.

“Our responsibility was never to reinvent Havana Harry’s,” said Carlos Centurion, Founder of Centurion Restaurant Group. “It was to protect what generations of guests have loved, while building a restaurant that will serve this community for many years to come.”

Founded in 1995, Havana Harry’s has earned a reputation as one of Miami’s premier destinations for authentic Cuban comfort food, recognized by the Michelin Guide and repeatedly named one of Miami’s “Best Cuban Restaurants.” It has been the setting for birthdays, graduations, business meetings and Sunday family lunches, the countless everyday moments that became lifelong memories for generations of South Florida families.

Havana Harry’s has been under the Centurion Restaurant Group umbrella (Bulla Gastrobar, Pisco y Nazca and Beehive Kitchen) since 2022, and the group has taken great care to preserve the original recipes and community spirit that have long defined it. Rather than a quick refresh, ownership chose to build a restaurant designed to serve the community for decades to come.

Reopening initially for daily lunch and dinner (breakfast will return on December 1), Havana Harry’s will once again serve the menu guests love, from tostones and croquetas to Cuban sandwiches and main plates like the bestselling Ropa Vieja, Arroz con Pollo and Lechoncita. Topping the list is the Chicken Vaca Frita, the restaurant’s signature dish of shredded chicken sautéed with onions, garlic and a proprietary blend of seasonings until crispy. The dessert menu spans traditional flan, cakes and tres leches to the signature “Overdose” milkshakes.

“We can’t wait to welcome our guests back,” Centurion added. “Families have been asking us every week when they can return, and now we are finally ready for them.”

Havana Harry’s is located in Coral Gables at 4612 South LeJeune Road.

Coming Soon: Lucky Cat Steak

Gordon Ramsay is bringing a brand-new concept to Miami Beach’s South of Fifth Opening Nov. 25 at 119 Washington Ave., Lucky Cat Steak was created with Miami in mind, bringing together an exceptional steak program, fresh sushi and sashimi and bold Japanese and Korean flavors, all set against the energy of a vibrant lounge designed for long dinners and late nights.

“Opening Lucky Cat in 2024 showed me that this city doesn’t always want a concept designed somewhere else, it deserves a restaurant created specifically for Miami. So that’s exactly what we have done with Lucky Cat Steak. We reimagined the entire experience around what this city loves: incredible sushi, bold Asian-inspired flavors, amazing local produce, elevated cocktails and serious steaks cooked over live fire, an immersive atmosphere built for friends and family to come together. And this time, we’re bringing the steak.” Said Gordon Ramsay.

Developed with Lucky Cat Executive Head Chef Michael Howells, the menu was created for Miami, bringing the city’s tropical character to Lucky Cat’s Japanese and Korean cooking. At its heart is a standout steak program, with USDA Prime, Texas Akaushi, A5 Miyazaki and Australian Blackmore Wagyu finished over an open-flame robata grill. Mango and papaya bring freshness and color to the plate, echoing the energy of Miami, while the city’s Latin American influence comes through in dishes like black cod croquettes and wagyu bulgogi tacos.

“We wanted to bring the spirit of Lucky Cat to Miami Beach, while ensuring that the city influenced the food in a meaningful way. The menu brings together Japanese and Korean flavors, seafood, sushi and premium steaks, with plenty of room to have fun along the way. It’s about great ingredients, flavor and creating an experience that feels right at home here.” Said Michael Howells, Executive Head Chef for Lucky Cat.

Designed for sharing, the menu moves from wagyu maki, scallop sashimi and tuna & jalapeño crispy rice to snapper ceviche, wagyu gyoza and the ‘GFP’, a Miami reimagining of fan-favorite ‘GFC’, Gordon’s Fried Chicken, swapping chicken for prawns. Korean-inspired sides, including freshly rolled kimbap, yukhoe and crispy tofu bibimbap, round out a menu that stays true to Lucky Cat while bringing a distinctly Miami point of view.

Inspired by the heat and energy of South Beach, Lucky Cat’s cocktail program brings Miami’s tropical spirit to life through an Asian lens. The Okinawa margarita gets a fresh Miami twist with kumquat, Thai basil and salted shiso air, while the spicy passion & mango margarita turns up the heat with bold tropical flavor. Playful, vibrant and made for late nights, the drinks capture the energy of SoFi after dark. The Lucky Negroni puts fate in the hands of the guest, inviting them to roll the dice across six gins, six bitters and six vermouths to create a one-of-a-kind serve.

Lucky Cat Steak takes over the South of Fifth space, formerly home to Lucky Cat Miami at 119 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33139. The restaurant will be open for dinner service Wednesday through Saturday. Reservations will be accepted starting November 25 via OpenTable and RESY.
