Coyo Taco Brings Tasty Tacos and Tortas to Brickell

Coyo Taco - Brickell - Welcome

Brickell residents and visitors have a new place to get their taco fix: Coyo Taco. The Wynwood eatery opened a second location at Axis Brickell (1111 SW 1st Avenue) back in May, bringing its beloved Mexican street food experience across town. Guests can expect many of the classics from the original outpost, plus several items specific to the Brickell branch.

When we’re in Brickell and in the mood for Mexican food, we usually think of Cantina La Veinte. However, that’s not a place we can afford to eat at every day … but Coyo Taco is. Having visited Coyo’s Wynwood location and the now-defunct Shore Club location, we know to expect quality food at a reasonable price point.

For us, Coyo Taco is just what the neighborhood needs: a reliable fast-casual Mexican restaurant that won’t break the bank and is open late. And now with even more delicious items on the menu, it’s no surprise that Coyo has quickly become a neighborhood favorite.

180° at the DRB: New Offerings Deliver Fun Flavors

180° at the DRB is a breath of fresh air in Downtown Miami. Amidst the upscale hotel restaurants, fast-casual lunch spots and obvious money-laundering fronts in the area, the beloved gastropub sticks out like a sore thumb for all the right reasons. At 501 NE 1st Avenue, Chef Ryan Martin and his crew execute a diverse, delectable menu of global cuisine and pairs it with over 170 craft beers for good measure.

We had a chance to interview Chef Martin about the concept last year, and we’re happy to say that little has changed since then: the food is as tasty as ever, as is the beer selection (much to our diet’s detriment). With that said, there has been one noticeable change: a new menu.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Chef Martin has recently introduced a bevy of delicious items, including a burger to rival his award-winning 50/50 creation (chorizo, prime beef, queso frito, maduros, fried egg and spicy lime aioli). And yes, they’re worth your while.

Novecento Celebrates 25 Years with a Kitchen Takeover

Sebastian La Rocca - Novecento

This year marks Novecento’s 25th anniversary, and the restaurant has been hosting many fun events to celebrate this milestone. One of these events was a a kitchen takeover at the restaurant’s Brickell location with renowned Chef Sebastian La Rocca, culinary director for Enjoy Group of Costa Rica. Chef La Rocca oversees all restaurants and hotels in the group, which includes Bacchus, L’ile de France and Terruño.

For one night only at the Brickell outpost, guests could enjoy a six-course menu developed by Chef La Rocca and inspired by Argentina. We were fortunate to experience the extensive menu for ourselves along with fellow foodies and friends. Here’s what he had throughout the evening.
