ExperienceSOFI is back! The Miami Beach food tour returns on Wednesday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. This exclusive culinary adventure gives guests an all-inclusive behind the scenes taste of Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood. 2018 will bring together 20+ chefs, globally acclaimed artist, spirits, wines, new restaurants and neighborhood favorites. And just like last year, you can use ExperienceSOFI 2018 promo code PUG to get a discount: $10 off.
On the intersection of Washington Avenue and 1st Street in Miami Beach, Top Chef winner Jeremy Ford has set up shop with his first post-Matador Room venture: Stubborn Seed. It’s the first of two restaurants we can expect from the nationally renowned chef and Grove Bay Hospitality (the team behind Glass & Vine and other local favorites).
The South of Fifth space that once housed Tiramesu has been transformed into an inviting showcase for Chef Ford’s masterful menu, which lives up to its goal of taking honest ingredients and elevating them to a whole new level. Diners are in for a treat.
When most people think of South Beach, the South of Fifth neighborhood probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Unlike crowded spots like Lincoln Road and its surrounding areas, South of Fifth is a lot more chill — but that doesn’t mean they can’t party.
Each year, we look forward to the annual SoFi culinary tour put together by the team behind South Beach Seafood Festival. ExperienceSOFI was a fun way to discover (or in our case, rediscover) all the different restaurants that call the neighborhood home. Here’s a closer look at this year’s festivities.
Where can you find some of the best fish tacos in town? Lolo’s Surf Cantina. This new Baja-inspired Mexican eatery has set up shop inside the Marriott Stanton South Beach, and its fun and casual fare is sure to quickly turn the spot into a local favorite. While tacos are definitely one of the main draws here, there’s a lot more to the place than meets the eye — and you need to experience the menu for yourself.
Stephen Starr and his projects are no strangers to South Florida — or to us. The Continental, Le Zoo and Steak 954 are all places we love, so naturally we were excited to hear about New York’s Upland opening up on Miami Beach. Helmed by Chef Justin Smillie, the restaurant serves up California-inspired cuisine that’s taken South of Fifth and the city by storm. Stop by for brunch, and you’ll see exactly what all the fuss is about.
