Midnight Chef’s Table at Yardbird

Tonight, Sept. 27, is the next monthly installment of the Midnight Chef’s Table Dinner Series at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. This month they’ve partnered with Angel’s Envy. The night begins at 10 p.m. with a neat bourbon tasting and passed bites; followed by a four-course, bourbon-paired dinner.

Night Owl Cookies Teams Up With Dos Croquetas

Andrew Gonzalez Founder of Night Owl Cookies is at it again… Launching a CROQUETA Chocolate Chip Cookie! Yes, you heard right a CROQUETA COOKIE named The 3″Dough”5!

Night Owl Cookies, Miami’s most famous cookie shop, and Dos Croquetas join forces to create the most 305 dessert ever! These two Instagram-famous establishments came together to honor their roots creating 3″Dough”5 a Hispanic Heritage Month cookie.


Cooking Class at Three

Continuing his successful Chef-in-Residence at Three, the vibrant, upscale eatery located within the Wynwood Arcade, Chef Ari Taymor of Little Prince LA will debut ‘Vegetables Aren’t Just a SideShow’, a unique, veggie-infused cooking class at In the Kitchen, the partner cooking school next to Three, on Wednesday, October 2nd from 6:30 – 8:30pm.

Focusing on his love for creating vegetable-focused dishes, Chef Ari Taymor will teach attendees how to prepare four different types of dishes with vegetables as the main component. In the two-hour class, the following menu will come to life:

  • Warm wild Mushroom salad with chicories, hazelnut, and vadouvan
  • Roasted Carrots with dandelion salsa verde
  • Roasted Lamb Saddle
  • Dessert: Buckwheat-Chocolate torte with plum sherbert and almond cream

Truffle Season at Gianni’s

Experience white truffle season in style at Gianni’s at The Villa Casa Casuarina at the former Versace Mansion with a special five course menu from executive chef Valter Mancini. One of the world’s most coveted ingredients, usually harvested from Italy’s Piedmont region, the “diamond of the kitchen” is a favorite among discerning food lovers – with its distinct, subtle flavors only available for a limited time each year.

Gianni’s, with its gorgeous al fresco terrace overlooking the world-renowned mosaic and gold-tiled pool or Roman and Garden rooms, is the perfect backdrop for this elegant, exclusive delicacy. The rare White Truffle is shaved tableside; allowing the heat of the food to release the heavenly aroma. The prix-fixe, available from September through the end of November, is priced at $280 (exclusive of tax and gratuity); all courses are also available a la carte as noted.

Jaguar Lab Is Back

Jaguar Lab is back again to bring guests an out of this world experience! Presented by Chef Oscar Del Rivero and Jaguar Latin American Kitchen, Jaguar Lab is a monthly series where Chefs are welcome to embrace their creativity and experiment with different flavors and cuisines, where no idea is too “extra”.

Chef Oscar successfully collaborates with local chefs and various cuisines to bring everyone a new and unique menu that test the limits. This culinary event will attract those that are in for a new, sensational experience, letting go of their inhibitions as these dishes will awaken their senses and taste buds.

For this month’s edition, Chef Oscar welcomes Chef JC Lopategui to the kitchen to serve up something special for Jaguar’s guestlist, including dishes such as Churrasco Brasileiro, Fresh Catch Ceviche & Mofongo and more. Making authentic dishes with his mom since the early age of 4, JC’s life and passion has revolved around food for as long as he can remember.

After graduating business school, he took his talents to The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, studying under some of the most accomplished chefs around the world. He spent several years cooking and consulting in various restaurants worldwide. He launched his business, The Ceviche Parlor, focusing on bringing Puerto Rican style ceviche to farmers markets and catering events across Florida.

Special Olympics Florida Announces Gala Details

Special Olympics Florida Miami-Dade County has announced that its 7th Annual Athlete Awards Gala will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the JW Marriott Marquis in Downtown Miami. Presented by TD Bank, the event will be emceed by the award-winning ABC (WPLG) news anchors Laurie Jennings and Louis Aguirre and will be hosted by Gala Chair Ricardo Miyares, a long time Special Olympics Florida supporter and brother of one of their most decorated athletes, Andy Miyares.

This year’s gala theme, “A Taste of La Havana”, is set to transport guests into a tropical and lively night of amazing fun and food along with a special live performance by Albita, the Grammy-winning Cuban singer, producer and composer. Throughout the mambo cocktail reception, guests will be greeted with entertainment by the sounds from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music orchestra as well as a live show by El Tucán, the Mr. Hospitality Asian-inspired lounge and restaurant.

During this time, guests will have the chance to enjoy passed bites and cocktails at the dedicated Bacardi mojito bar while bidding on both live auction and silent auction items, which will include luxury hotel packages, spa treatments, and VIP dinner experiences, to name a few.
