Puppy Brunch at The National Hotel

The National Hotel is excited to announce its partnership with the Humane Society of Greater Miami for an on-site puppy adoption event and a la carte specialty brunch at Mareva 1939 on Sunday, August 27, from 12pm – 3:30pm.

Taking place the day after National Dog Day, all dog lovers are encouraged to bring their dogs for an afternoon of delicious Spanish cuisine, bottomless cocktails, and the joy of being surrounded by adorable puppies. Make your reservation on OpenTable.

 

New Tasting Menu at Beauty & The Butcher

Michelin-starred Chef Jeremy Ford is introducing a new rotating, eight-course Chef’s Tasting Menu to South Miami restaurant Beauty & The Butcher. Ford, who led his first restaurant Stubborn Seed to earn and maintain its Michelin Star, is bringing a new, unparalleled dining experience in South Miami.

Working closely with a network of local farmers, Ford brings fresh, high quality ingredients combined with his eye for detail to the table as he works to create culinary masterpieces. Standout dishes include the Szechuan Cured Hamachi, served with torched melon, chili ferment, Florida mango and passionfruit emulsion; the Smoked Crescent Farms Duck with jerk roasted cabbage, pineapple puree and hazelnut dukkah; as well as a unique intermezzo which features a Blackberry & Cream Popsicle.

The menu ends with warm, comforting desserts such as the Homestead Mamey and a Gueridon Cheese Service curated by Executive Pastry Chef Ana De Sa Martins.

 

Opening Soon: Chimba

Latin inspired all-day eatery, CHIMBA. Is opening its doors later this month in Midtown Miami. In Latin America, Chimba is a slang term used to describe something either really good or bad. Grupo Alfoz, the restaurant group behind the concept, wanted to create an escape creating an inviting and casual vibe with dishes designed for any time of the day. Chimba promises to take guests through a culinary journey with strong Latin influences but with a modern day twist. Chimba will be located at 2830 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 3313

Menu highlights include Provoleta made with grilled provolone, cherry tomatoes, grilled peppers and fruit vinegar ($17), Beet Arepa filled with pork carnitas and smoked gouda ($15), an in-house Cured Fish Toast served atop sourdough toast with chive cream cheese, crispy sunchoke, tangerine and sprouts ($17), Choripan Sandwich filled with chorizo, criolla, lettuce and aioli ($14), Picanha al Fierro topped with chimichurri sauce ($28) and Shrimp Chaufa mixed with shrimp, onion, bell peppers, green onion, soy, sesame oil and sprouts ($23). Desserts are also made in-house featuring a Miami ode, Key Lime Tres Leches layered with key lime custard, Italian meringue and vanilla streusel ($11).

In theme of their local and sustainable mission, Chimba is partnering with local purveyor Sullivan Street Bakery using their renowned breads for toasts and sandwiches.

 

New Programming at Chotto Matte

Chotto Matte, the renowned global Nikkei dining destination with locations in London, Toronto, Doha and Miami Beach (and upcoming outposts in San Francisco, Riyadh, Philadelphia and more), has introduced a fresh slate of engaging dining experiences throughout the week including a unique spin on happy hour (“Chotto Hour”), Steak and Sushi Sundays and a Fiesta del Sol celebration every Thursday.

Here’s what guests can expect:

Chotto Hour: Perfect for after-work socializing, this alluring new weekday promotion takes place every Tuesday through Friday from 5-7 p.m., offering 2-for-1 selected cocktails, spirits and wine and an all-new $4-$13 Nikkei bar bites menu.

Fiesta del Sol: Inspired by the lively festival that honors the Incan sun god Inti Raymi, Fiesta del Sol transports guests to the heart of Peru as the restaurant comes alive with enchanting lanterns, creating an atmosphere of celebration throughout the summer months and beyond. The festivities take place every Thursday at 5 p.m., featuring delectable plates, refreshing drinks, and live DJs and entertainment. Guests can enjoy the à la carte menu (with a minimum of two dishes per person) to unlock a free-flowing drinks offering for $50 per person.

Bar Gilda Popup at Tropezón

Bar Gilda, the pop-up restaurant serving delicious Basque pintxos is back! Available every Monday and Tuesday from 5pm – 10pm at Tropezón, menu items includecroquetas, mejillones en escabeche, tuna con piquillos y sobrasada, tostada de anchoa al ajillo, tortilla, Chef Juan Garrido’s version of a bikini sandwich and more. No reservations required.
