Coming Soon: Zuccaly

Coral Gables will soon welcome its first Italian food hall with the arrival of Zuccaly, opening this summer at The Plaza Coral Gables. Operated by the Da Silva Hospitality Group, the 8,000-square-foot destination will feature six distinct Italian food stations under one roof—Pasta and Risotto, LaBiga Pizza and Focaccia, Grilling Steaks and Fish, Il Giardino, PortaVia Gastro Market, and Dolci.

Zuccaly’s opening represents a major milestone for the city of Coral Gables and the Da Silva multi-generational hospitality group, which has operated a diverse portfolio of concepts since 1950, including restaurants in Venezuela and Portugal. In South Florida, the group has helmed Coral Gables favorite Zucca for the past nine years and recently expanded its regional presence with the relaunch of Hereford Grill, a landmark Miami steakhouse. With the opening of Zuccaly, the Da Silva Hospitality Group is expected to create approximately 120 new local jobs.

Zuccaly’s culinary program is helmed by the group’s Corporate Chef Manuel Garcia, who has overseen the kitchen at Zucca for the past nine years. His experience also includes Michelin-starred kitchens such as L’Espérance and La Côte Saint-Jacques in France. Under his guidance, Zuccaly will showcase Roman-style pizza al taglio at the LaBiga station, crafted with biga, the traditional Italian pre-fermentation method. Prepared with minimal yeast and slow fermentation, biga enhances depth of flavor, improves structure, and yields a lighter, aromatic, and more digestible crust with an airy interior.

The Portavia Gastromarket, Zuccaly’s own deli market and grab-and-go counter, will feature Italian specialties such as vitello tonnato, Wagyu carpaccio, freshly prepared burrata, house-made sauces, and ready-to-serve classics like lasagna and cannelloni.

The Pasta and Risotto counter will spotlight freshly made, in-house pasta, including lasagna and cannelloni layered with traditional sauces and seasonal ingredients. Selected meats and seafood will be prepared over charcoal and live-wood fire at the Grilling Steaks and Fish station, delivering distinctive smokiness and robust flavor. Il Giardino will serve fresh salads, and Zucally’s list of offerings will also include Italian street food items designed to be enjoyed at the table, standing, shared, or taken to go—capturing the vibrant rhythm of Italy’s piazzas.
Guests will enjoy artisanal desserts and house-made gelato at Zuccaly’s Dolci station, including tiramisu variations, an assortment of bomboloni, and cornetti and crostate, among other gelato presentations.

Embracing its urban energy, Zuccaly will offer a weekday 2-for-1 Happy Hour from Monday through Friday, positioning the venue as a natural after-work gathering destination. The bar is conceived as an extension of the Italian aperitivo ritual—elegant, vibrant, and designed to be shared.

Zuccaly’s cocktail program centers on Italian classics and original creations inspired by Mediterranean spirits. Signature offerings will include the Negroni, Americano, and Spritz, presented in interpretations that reflect the house’s style and identity. A dedicated coffee program will highlight traditional Italian espresso beverages alongside curated cold coffee creations.
