Dining out can get expensive. This is especially true now that Miami Spice is over. Where have all the good deals gone? One of them has gone to Cantina La Veinte in Brickell, where guests can indulge in a satisfying three-course lunch for just $25. It’s a bargain that you won’t find anywhere else.
The beauty of Miami Spice is that you can check out restaurants that would normally be out of your budget. Case in point: Cantina La Veinte, which is known for its flavorful Mexican cuisine by Chef Santiago Gomez. It’s not a place we can afford to visit regularly — it’s more of a special occasion spot for us — but it’s a place we wish we could eat at more often. The food is sensational.
Thankfully, Cantina La Veinte is participating in Miami Spice, so we can afford to eat there regularly (at least until September 30). And you better believe we will, as the restaurant is fully embracing the promotion by highlighting some exceptional fare. Best of all, you can indulge for lunch AND dinner.
After trying out Chef Santiago Gomez’s food for the first time back in 2015, we were sold. To this day, he remains one of our favorite chefs in Miami as he balances his time between Cantina La Veinte and his newer concept Tacology. So when we were invited to check out his recent menu additions at Cantina, we didn’t hesitate to come in.

Having been to Brickell’s Cantina La Veinte only for drinks, we were pretty excited about being invited in for dinner. The restaurant, located on the ground floor of The Icon Brickell, is helmed by Executive Chef Santiago Gomez, whose resume includes stints at Nobu (both in Miami and Mexico City) as well as multiple outposts of Cantina La Veinte throughout Mexico.
Knowing that this was our first true Cantina La Veinte experience, Chef Gomez brought out an assortment of classics and favorites for the perfect first impression. Here’s a rundown of what we had (and what you should order).
