Thanks for visiting our About Us page!
We’re Geoff and Dianne, the duo behind Miami Food Pug. You might be wondering why we’d create a blog about Miami, food and pugs, but the reasoning is simple: we love Miami, food and pugs.
Our (Brief) Story
We met in 2012 at a 3D screening of the Titanic re-release and hit it off over our mutual love of the above. But it wasn’t until a trip to Chicago in 2013 that we decided to start a Miami food blog together. We always went out to eat, so it just made sense to document these experiences given our backgrounds and interests (journalism and photography).
We don’t own a pug. Yes, the jig is up. Our apartment doesn’t allow pets, but we’ll be getting a pug once we move. We have to, obviously.
Our Editorial Policy
If we like a restaurant’s food, we’ll post about it on the blog or social media. If we don’t like a restaurant’s food, you won’t find it anywhere on the blog or our social media. Why? Restaurants in South Florida are a dime and dozen, and we’re all super busy. The last thing you want is to waste your calories and time on a bad meal. We got you, boo.
On the blog and our other properties, you’ll learn about new spots as well as old favorites in the tri-county area. We’re always bouncing from neighborhood to neighborhood to find the best dishes, even if that means driving all the way down to Homestead or all the way up to West Palm Beach. Got any restaurant recommendations? Let us know at bark@miamifoodpug.com.
If you love pugs, food and fun, we invite you to sift through our site and discover some new places to wine, dine and unwind. Thanks again for visiting!

I need to contact you. I want to invite you to our restaurant. Can you send me your email and phone number please?
Yall, especially Dianne since I’m more familiar with her, need to holler at me when you branch off and add coffee pug to your food pug. I am a certified coffee professional after all. But until then, I’m finna just stick to writing erotic food pug fiction.

Hi, Dianne and Geoffrey. I’m a volunteer for Born Free Pet Shelter in Homestead. I’m so happy that you’re doing a brunch to benefit the shelter. We are run almost entirely by volunteers and need every bit of support we can get, especially given the recent hurricane that leveled many of our dog pens and left fallen trees and debris everywhere. All the dogs are fine and that’s the most important thing.
Again, thank you. Wondering how you found out about us. Would love to correspond with you. Our website, by the way, is Bornfreeshelter.org.
Thanks Dianne and Geoff for all you do in the food community. I so appreciate you honoring me by taking my class. That photo gallery makes me look good, thanks again Dianne for all your efforts.
