When we heard Chef Jose Icardi was opening a new Mexican restaurant at Shore Club, we were intrigued. Chef Icardi, the culinary powerhouse behind Leynia at Delano South Beach, already won us over with tasty Argentinean cuisine, so we had high expectations for Diez y Seis. We expected the best, and that’s exactly what we got during our dinner there.
Last month, we spoiled ourselves with tacos in San Diego. It seemed like a good decision at the time, but trying our favorite Mexican dish over on the West Coast made us realize what we were missing over here in Miami. There’s no comparison: San Diego tacos — especially fish tacos — just taste better.
Coming back to South Florida, we weren’t sure we’d find anything close to the quality we experienced. Pilo’s Street Tacos in Brickell proved us wrong.
After trying out Chef Santiago Gomez’s food for the first time back in 2015, we were sold. To this day, he remains one of our favorite chefs in Miami as he balances his time between Cantina La Veinte and his newer concept Tacology. So when we were invited to check out his recent menu additions at Cantina, we didn’t hesitate to come in.
Arjun Waney is no stranger to restaurants … especially in South Florida. The restaurateur behind some of Miami’s biggest names — Zuma, Coya and La Petite Maison — has set up shop in Miami Beach with a LatAsian concept that fuses Peruvian, Chinese and Japanese influences. Trying to capture all of that fare on one menu can be a tall order, but DÔA masterfully combines the three to craft a feast for the senses.
After two successful Coral Gables Food Tours with Coral Gables Love, we all decided to switch things up for the next one. The result: our first-ever Doral Food Tour. Earlier this week, diners got a chance to explore Downtown Doral and become more familiar with this up-and-coming foodie neighborhood.
