Halloween 2018: Where to Celebrate

While a lot of people celebrated Halloween this past weekend, the actual holiday on Wednesday still features plenty of events to keep you busy. Below, you’ll find a list of local Halloween festivities and specials to help you make the most of your night.

1 Hotel Rooftop

Who hasn’t dreamed of what it’d be like to live in Alice in Wonderland’s world? This year, on Halloween, 1 Hotel South Beach is allowing you to fulfill this fantasy in partnership with Veuve Clicquot. On Halloween night, the Rooftop at 1 Hotel will be transformed into a mystical Alice in 1Derland environment through décor, entertainment and beats by power-DJ Yissel.

Highlights will include grass walls, picture frame photo opps, cages for dancers, birdcage chairs and all of the decorations that made Alice in Wonderland an iconic film. Costumes are encouraged, and the event is free and open to the public with RSVP to 1SBevents@1hotels.com. 1-800-LUCKY

Wynwood’s favorite food hall will be bewitching attendees this Halloween with a night ghoul’ never forget. Tunes all night will be provided by DJs A-train, Louie, Arson, Silent Addy, Maneuvers, and SIRE. Don’t forget your costume, prizes will be given to the best dressed.

Cantina La 20

On Halloween, guests will not recognize the same polished and chic interior Cantina La 20 typically boasts. Instead, the breathtaking destination will transform into a haunted house where cobwebs, gravestones and zombie servers will take over the sophisticated and sexy Mexican getaway. Creatures of the night will be able to have a “frightfully” good time as they can dine inside our haunted house for dinner.

For those who dare enter, costumers are highly encouraged as the restaurant will honor their annual Costume Contest. The winning prize is $500in cash and a 10-year aged bottle of Bacardi. Runner up will receive a $200 gift card and an 8-year aged bottle of Bacardi while the third best dressed will win a $100 gift card and a 4-year aged bottle of Bacardi.

Lucky for witches, this year the holiday falls on the restaurant’s weekly ladies night. Girls will be able to sip on FREE margaritas from 5-10 PM at the bar only. Dj Jeff will also be spinning downstairs by the bay with hypnotizing views of Brickell. Reservations for dinner are recommended and can be made by calling 786-623-6136.

GK Bistronomie

This restaurant located in the heart of Wynwood will be serving up a variety of different concoctions on Wednesday, October 31st for all the witches and warlocks out that night!

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., beers will be going for $3 and cocktails for $5. Cocktails can either be enjoyed while sitting down in the restaurant or if the guest can’t stay they can easily take it to go in a Grab N’ Go bag.

For Halloween night, only the “Jack the Ripper” will be making an appearance. This hair-rising cocktail is made with Chicha Morada Finger Infused Bulldog Gin, a Splash of Fresh Lime, and Aji Amarillo Powder. The Cocktail will be priced at $10.

Havana 1957

Spend “Un Dia En La Habana” and relive the glory and glamour of old Cuba during the 1950’s while getting in your frights with Havana 1957’s Halloween cocktail specials. Keeping things vampy, they’re offering a Bloody Mojito ($13.95) which is made with red-infused rum, mint leaves, sugar, lime juice and soda water; the Dracucosmo ($13.95), Dracula’s favorite cocktail made with Bacardi Limon, Peach Schnapps, cranberry and pineapple juice; and to walk under the sun, the Vampisol ($8.50), made with cold beer, fresh lime juice and Clamato juice.

The National Hotel

This Halloween, The National Hotel is transforming the Aqua Club and Lounge into “King’s Landing” inspired by the popular HBO series, “Game of Thrones.” Everyone gets to be king or queen of the Seven Kingdoms for the night and party hard like “winter is coming” while sipping on themed drinks and dancing to groovy sounds from a live DJ. Fans of the series can take photos throughout the property with the inspired décor and enjoy plenty of other surprises. The cinematic Art Deco hotel in the heart of South Beach will also have activations set up throughout their lobby, the iconic Blues Bar and outdoor spaces.

In conjunction with the “Game of Thrones” festivities, The National Hotel will be hosting a “Rocky Horror Picture Show” themed Open Mic Night at the Blues Bar. Guests are invited to sing frightful songs while enjoying 2-for-1 wine, beer and well drinks, plus an $8 tapas menu from 8 p.m. to midnight. Both events are free to the public and guests are encouraged to wear their best costume for a chance to win a prize.

Portico at The Diplomat Beach Resort

Located at The Diplomat Beach Resort, Portico is a waterfront beer and wine garden serving sharable, light-Italian favorites with an exclusively on-tap beer and wine program. Bark your calendars because on October 31st, Portico will be hosting a “Yappy Hour” for all dogs, pet owners and friends to enjoy.

Slip a costume on your precious pup and enter them in the Canine and Companions Costume Contest – most creative wins! As dogs explore the Diplomat Landing area, guests can enjoy $5 food, drinks and well liquor cocktails.

Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar

Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar invites guests to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with drink specials, face painting and more on Thursday, November 2nd. Available all day, Rocco’s team of talented chefs will be serving their classic Mexican cuisine including Rocco’s famous tacos and other signature menu items.

Enjoy $6 House Margaritas and $4 Mexican draft beers from open to close. Makeup artists will be onsite transforming guests with custom designed sugar skull creations (based on availability) from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. The party will continue into the evening with DJs and other “Day of the Dead” surprises!

Wynwood Marketplace

HalloWYN Presented by Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, is back this year igniting the night with activities set to shock all. SWARM, notorious for hosting the most extravagant parties, is bringing back their annual FREE Halloween party for all Miamians to enjoy. HalloWYN will take place on Halloween night, Wednesday, October 31st at the Wynwood Marketplace.

Thousands of trick or treaters are set to attend to experience the most hair-raising Halloween party yet. This year, HalloWYN will be offering up something for just about every witch and warlock that roams the streets of Wynwood. Multiple bars will feature the signature cocktail of the night the “Blood & Fire,” made with a double shot of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, peach nectar and Tropical Red Bull.

An out of this world fire bar will be bursting with flames throughout the entire night. To satisfy the scariest of cravings, there will also be over 20 of the best local food vendors to choose from, including Bodega and other signature eateries.

Illuminated in red, the Dragon’s Den will showcase cage dancers and fire spinners, setting the scene for a Halloween night to remember. Attendees will also get to experience a haunted marketplace and live music and entertainment from Miami’s best local DJ’s including Miami’s famous DJ Irie. MC & comedian, Andy Pita, will be providing the tricks to go with all the treats and have you howling all night long with his wicked jokes.

Gather your crew and #IgniteFrightNight at HalloWYN on your Hallows’ Eve. There will be a costume contest set to award the best dressed guests with $100 worth of credit at the bar for second place, and $100 in cold, hard cash for the first-place winner. The Wynwood Yard

This Halloween, starting at 5 p.m., gather at the Wynwood Graveyard decked out in your best costume and fall into the night with a DJ-driven party featuring opening sets by EDMIAMI & Beta Rebels followed by two-time Grammy nominated producer, MC, and DJ Scram Jones! Even little ones can get in on the fun with trick-or-treating from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Feast on eats by the concepts at The Wynwood Yard and sip on craft brews, wine or cocktails from The Bar at The Yard.
