Meet Your Bartender: Will Thompson
When you’re sitting on the other side of the bar from Will Thompson, you’re getting more than a transaction. More than just a “What are you having?” More than just a “hello” and “goodbye.” You’re getting an experience.
Thompson, a 32-year-old former Air Force medic, has made a name for himself over the years tending bar at some of Miami’s top restaurants and watering holes including Broken Shaker, Ball & Chain and, more recently, The Local Craft Food + Drink. He’s come a long way since getting his feet wet in the industry at P.F. Chang’s after completing his military service. Read more
Wag Wednesday: Katie Sullivan and Andy Gilbert & Edward and Lucy
Over the past year, we’ve interviewed many members of the hospitality industry, and one constant among the interviewees has been a profound love for their pets. We thought it would be great to share this love with our readers. That’s why we launched a new, ongoing feature called “Wag Wednesday” to showcase industry peeps and their pets.
This week, we’re featuring Katie Sullivan and Andrew Gilbert of The Seven Dials and their shelter dogs, Edward and Lucy:
Chef Phillip Bryant and The Local Craft Food & Drink: A Winning Combination
The Local Craft Food & Drink isn’t the same place it was a year ago. If you haven’t visited the Coral Gables American gastropub recently, it’s time you did. Why? Because Chef Phillip Bryant is in charge.
#FindMeAHomeFriday: Tootsie – The Local
Beef Jerky from The Local Craft Food & Drink in Coral Gables
This is Tootsie. She’s a tiny, beautiful girl around 6-7 years old. She’s full of love and enjoys getting and giving kisses! She’s considered special needs as her back legs don’t work so well. Tootsie is able to scoot around using her front legs and will hopefully be receiving her wheels soon! For more information on this sweet girl, visit her adoption page.
#FindMeAHomeFriday is a campaign by Compassionate Pug Rescue and Miami Food Pug to help South Florida pugs find a forever home. Each Friday, we will be photoshopping a rescue pug available for adoption into an MFP food picture. For more details, visit the campaign page.
